5th gen headlight removel

I did a search here and on the net. But cannot find how to remove the headlights on a 5th gen prelude. I got both 10mm bolts out and can move the light around but it seems that you have to remove the fender to get the hole assmbly out.? Is this correct

I don't think the 5th gen headlights are tight. I think you get a "little" play with them.

Nah, they ain't suppose to move. I have one that' a little loose and it's pretty obvious that it shouldn't. The other doesn't move at all unless you loosten the bolts.

Nice work on the H.

Removing the bumper isn't hard, putting it back on requires a second set of hands, though not for much.

Look what I found.

Quote:
If you look under the car, you will notice about 4 or 5 screws in the front row which hold the front lip to the front bumper (splash guard), the row behind that are the screws you need to take out to get the bumper off.

-Firstly take the screws out from the inside wheel arch at the top (where the bumper meets the front guard), and the screw down the bottom (the screw goes through the end of the front lip, through the front bumper and into the splash gaurd of the wheel arch)... god I wish I had pics to make this easy.. but you will see once you have a look.
-Take those screws out from each side (it makes it easier if you turn the wheel to get it out of the way for each side)...
-Get underneath the car and start from one side, There are two screws on the side of the front bumper (looking from underneath), but only ONE screw needs to be taken out as it is screwed to the splash gaurd.
-then move to underneath the front section and unscrew the 4 or 5 bolts from there. Remember its the second row of bolts that need to be taken off, the others are there to hold the front lip on.
-Take the other screw out from the side like in the second step.
-Now unclip the black clips that hold the plastic grill on where the bonnet latch is. unscrew the two bolts that hold it down, and then slide the grill forward.
-I think there are 4 black clips that need to be popped off that hold the frond bumper to the reinforcement bar. Pop them off.
-As far as my memory can tell, at this point everything that is holding the front bar on has been taken off.

-Now to get the bar off, start from one side on the wheel arch where the bumper meets the guard. At that point where the bolt was taken out, pull down that edge slightly until it unlatches from the position lock.
-There are two clips on each side of the front bumper (actually maybe its 3 :S), so what you do is make a small tug from the wheel arch side and they should pop out quite easily.
-Move to the other side and do the same thing.
-Carefully pull the bumper from the front and place it on the ground (I use a huge blanket to rest it on). From here you can unplug the foggies and the indicators..

Wala! Front bumper off... Now the hard part is when you are putting it back on and forget which bolt belongs to where!

Note: I wrote that just now from MEMORY.. dont shoot me if I forgot a bolt.. but im pretty sure its right..
