Failed emissions, your Lude is what year? I've heard of newer cars having to pass emission test like 2005 and newer but older cars are grandfather claused. Plus only in metro areas like Washington DC and possibly some areas in California are tested for state inspections. Not sure what kind of test they did especially if it failed one month and pass in a later month without anything done to it? I would say you have nothing to worry about.

why are you worried about it if you already passed?
the previous owner obviously fixed whatever it was failing for.

va has emissions tests too...they are supposed to let you know the problem so you can fix it...but like twoklxv6coupe said, the previous owner already took car of the problem if you passed the test yourself already....

I like in b.f.e NC, but the counties on both sides do emissions tests back to 96 models... (obd2... they know us obd1 guys don't have much chance of passing).

don't have the problem in KS. lol. we have people running all over the place with cars that would completely fail the emissions test. and I am pretty sure all they check on the emissions test arefor air pollution.

i didnt pass or fail emissions i didnt have to take them.. the car is from a different state.. i was just wondering why would it fail emissions.. i know my old car (2003 evo) would fail in a heart beat from not having a cat converter, and etc..
