Hey guys, i am gonna call apone ya'll again since you guys give great advise. my lude currently is lowered off stock springs, i want to raise it up to get my bumper at least another inch of ground if possible currently sits under 1 in. off ground. If what springs can i buy that are adjustable that will allow me to put the car front end up a little bit but still keep good smooth mobility? need to find and buy asap. Money is on a low bill..so cheaper with good product is what i would like..or if i can just find something to throw on for temp.

how are you lowered on stock springs? that makes no sense.
unless the previous owner was a complete DUMBASS and cut the coils.

if they are cut stock springs, you can buy new stock springs which will raise it up back to stock height, and wont be too much money at all, but they won't be adjustable obviously.

well i kinda afraid to by springs from ebay. don't know the quality, i have shopped on ebay frequently and have never been disappointed. But not sure about the spring. I have never dealt with suspension before, so is there something i would have to look out for?

a good coilover kit will cost you at least 750...just springs with a good ride height can cost you around 100 bucks...if your new to the suspension thing and trying to do it your self, read and look into it so you dont screw up anything....if you went to a shop you would end up payin labor rates thatll cost like 500-600...and thats not cheap at all...if you dont like ebay try andysautosport.com....they do good business and have tons of brands

go to the part-outs section, then find someone parting out their 5th gen (if you have an SH, find an SH. if you have a base, find a base), and ask if the springs are sold yet. not too hard.

since your taking the entire suspension apart anyway, its recommended to change the shocks as well, but since your raising the height of the car, its lessening the stress on the shocks, so they'll last a bit longer than if you stayed lowered the entire time.

I had something like that on my lude for the rear. I sold them straight away and gor standard. Now I'm waiting for some decent setup.

Thing is they are not captive. I don't know what sort of laws you guys/girls have there but here you can not pass checkup without certification for adjustables and you can't get certification for uncaptive coilovers. They are wobble and they are unsafe. Not as stupid as chopped springs or no springs at all.

I suggest you get OEM springs which are very inexpensive and then buy the entire setup when you have money. My advise something captive. One example would be D2's.

I have a set of STOCK SPRINGS from when I started modding... I don't value them too highly so you might get them cheap!

Will 4th gen springs work on a 5th gen... seems like they are fine on non-sh models right?

if they are cut stock springs, you can buy new stock springs which will raise it up back to stock height, and wont be too much money at all, but they won't be adjustable obviously.
Can't you just cut one front and rear stock spring in half and throw the other two away (or make an extra set), and use the springs cut in half to slam you ride like a real g. I hear that's what all the cool kids are doing...

Just want to make sure no one takes me seriously... despite the fact that I am indeed a dumba$$, it is apparent even to me that cutting stock springs is about as bad an idea as anyone ever had in regards to suspension.

In some aspects yes it is retarded. But after seeing how my uncaptive coilovers did at a test and how they were moving like crazy I'm never getting coilovers like that again. Captive suspension FTW. Bit more expensive but it's worth it.

Im in New Zealand.

ding ding ding,, tell him what he wins Bob..

Sounds like what was done, funny how that thing tends to keep on lowering huh. Yeah I knew a dumb@ss that did that to his Toyota Corolla. Wow what a dumb thing to do.

Well if money is a problem right now I suggest go to a junkyard and get some used springs for the front, If they don't have a Lude same model as yours. I would ask them to cross reference them for you cause I bet those same springs are used on alot of small cars like ours. Its the cheapest way to get that thing back to some type of better handling and able to drive condition.

Look to ask people who are upgrading from stock and willing to sell their stock suspension cheap.

Yeah even better, I guess there are alot of guys on here that may have some stock suspension parts lying around. I know my brother has some stock 2004 RSX springs as he just had his H&R's installed. I wonder if they cross reference to a 5th Gen Lude. I bet I could get him to give them to me, all it will cost you is the shipping.

Also might make a difference cross referencing his RSX is the Type S.

Ah too bad that would have been ideal.

I'd say there are alot of guys on here that have some stock springs lying around though, maybe they would part with them for next to nothing.

Mine will be up for grabs, in the near future as I am doing suspension the first of the year 2009.

If I knew my struts where in okay shape I'd just do springs but I'm sure the car could use a nice new set of struts.
