Lambo Doors?

Okay so I have been debating on getting the door hinges to convert my doors to lambo doors but Im worried that its not very convinient getting in and out. Like am i gonna smack my head or shoulder on the corner of my door at all. Is there much clearence and also where should i get them from. I dont want a cheap set that will fall off as im driving or opening my door

good set runs around 1400 i believe, one major problem you will have with them is that the entire weight is suspended higher up so you will have to make sure the hinges and brackets are holding strong still, because they will weaken over time if they are cheap, but other then that it is not to hard, you will have to duck a little bit but the bottom of the door should set just below the top of the car.

thats a classy video right there! haha

And i say no to the lambo doors....first of all...rice is all i can say....i mean your car can be very clean and tastefully modified....but YOUR NOT A LABROGHINI! so therefore you automatically become rice :)
second my boyfriend had them on the celica and he had to open the door for almost all of his passengers because alot of people dont know the correct lambo door opening technique :)
and also he now has a dent on his fender coming from the inside out from those stupid hinges.....im not sure how it happened because they werent cheap and he installed them correctly but someone might have opened the door too high or wide idk
also they are not very convienent to have on a daily driver and you will get tired of opening them everyday...

There's a lot to it. Personally, I've never seen a kit that when installed would make me feel confident of surviving if something drove into the door, most of the ones I've seen are extruded aluminium, so look great but probably don't have much in the way of structural integrity.

They do make the car a bit hard to get in and out of, or if you're reasonably tall, they make it a lot hard. I worked on a Supra that had them when I was in the car audio shop and to get to the amp rack on the back seat was nearly impossible with the doors up.

Add to that the fact that in many cases you have to be really careful when opening them. IN the case of the aforementioned Supra, you had to pull the handle, pull the door out about three inches, lift up, then set to rest very gently to avoid tearing the paint off the surrounding panels.

AND most importantly, remember:

^Gotta disagree. They look silly, they work silly and worst of all you pay a lot of money to get pointed at and laughed at. Worked on a couple cars with them. Pain in the ASS!!! Door opening mods aren't cool anymore. Everything practical, and no so practical has been done. Suicide fits some cars Rolls Royce and 67 Continental.

If it looks good is up to the persons car everyone has an opinion. If you look at the pic E posted you will see that it would be a PIA to get in and out might mess up the paint and fender and cost a lot to have it done right. If you do get them i would get a 90 or 120 degree set they will open more so it wound be as bad.

That silver one looks pretty good, but still doesn't get around the functionality aspect.

However if the owner is happy with them then who are we to say otherwise?

To each his own.
They look much better on cars without the window frame like a 240SX or S2000. Something like a Prelude or Civic with the crap around the top of the window, looks kinda cheap, but I've seen much worse than what I posted. I really like the lip kit.
Lambo doors are more practical in a tight parking lot, especially if you're fat, just make sure you get 90 or 145 degree doors instead of 60.

Whell if you must put lambo doors then you must. Make sure hinges are good. Seen a lot of wobbly lambo doors.

Guys no matter how you look at it is all up to personal opinion, good, bad, ugly, silly, sweet, awesome. it doesn't matter in the terms of your friends, judges, and strangers..when it comes down to it..what matters the most......IT IS YOUR CAR YOUR PERSONALITY CUSTOM, OLD SCHOOL STOCK, SLIGHTLY MODDED, IS ALL ABOUT YOUR LOVE FOR THE WORK YOU DO ON THE CAR AND THE FEELING OF ACCOMPLISHMENT. IF YOU ARE DOING IT TO FIT IN OR BE COOL THEN QUIT NOW. IT WAS STARTED AS A PASSION AND IT NEEDS TO STAY THAT WAY. I love working on my car, whether it be from painting parts of the interior to have a giant superman sticker on your car(which i don't) it is the fact that you did it. At least that is how i view it everytime i work on my car. like putting another part of my own ideas into it.
