Sypder Front Bumper

Hey guys i have a interesting situation, i am having a sypder bumper installed on my lude and well i can't decide whether to have the lights go on the outsides holes, or have it on the big mouth middle part lining the sides. if anyone has suggestions please let me know, or if there is some way to do this..because right now they will have to sanddown part of the side holes to fight the factory lights in. bumper looks like this

I like lights, so put them in the outer holes. On either edge of the big opening will probably look crap.

ok, so i guess i will just have them shave off the edges a litle bit and work the lights into the holes. Also does anyone know where i can get the lightbulb/pigtail set to put into the lights, my old bumper got destoryed and the lights/pigtails are missing. i have one. but dont' wanna buy from dealership, or if there is some other type of light setup i can use?

oh hey does anyone know if i can get the mesh that acts like a filter for the air that goes between the holes? Also i was thinking what if i put my lights behind the mesh on the outer holes.

Well i got the bumper installed finally, kinda confusing to me to me and buddy got it. and I am not painting it so that way i can buy the struts/springs to lift ride up higher. here is pics. Let me kno what you think so far.

slight problem guys. having trouble with turn signal lights for front bumper. the bumper itself doesn't have brackets to attach the lamps behind. Can anyone think of a way to solve problem, personally i thought of just hot glueing or something like that around the edges that touch the body, since i don't plan on taking these off. What do you guys think?

Shoulda thought about that before you got it.
You'll need to fab something up though. Don't use hot glue. Make something that is detachable so if you ever decide to et a different front bumper. You may have to just get some universal turn signals from the auto parts store and zip tie them inside the bumper or something.

I mean what i would do is take a small metal back strap hot glue it to the bumper on the inside, and screw in the light if you can somehow without cracking it...

Hot glue isn't a good idea on a car, in the heat. Double sided tape works better.

Yeah dude need bigger pics plus if you can have the demensions of the openings I could better help you out and make it look good.

I have an Auto Cad program and could give you some options.

I think I saw another post you made basically about this same exact thing

http://preludezone.com/showthread.php?t=10748

I think I mentioned something about knowing a guy/ gal that did some bodywork with fiberglass. I have done a little bit of work with ABS plastics on motorcycles and a few dent fixes with fiberglass bondo resign. get me the photos and the measurements of the openings and I could throw a couple designs your way and you can decide which you want.

Well guys i have desided to leave the bumper at the level it is at. plan for lights is i am going to try to make a custom bracket that can be strapped to bumper and also reenforment bar. And gonna be getting it painted to match the car as well. Will try to get a picture of the bracket that i am making.

well i tried making a mounting bracket setup, but it was not working. so i figured i would get a smaller light setup and got a metal bracket to attact to the reenforcement bar.

Well for 1.man my bumper was torn to hell because of someone backing it over. from earlier owner. 2. pretty sure it is my car. 3. not many people are willing to attempt much with body kits. So if you don't like the idea or process of it then you can easily just not read thread.

Re: Sypder Front Bumper

UPDATE: after having spyder bumper installed i was finally able to install my fender liner which was a complete pain in the ass since i have never seen one completely on since my other one is ripped from the bumper down. happened before i got it. But i was able to get it on there with a little bit of force and 1 of my feet lol. will post more updates as events roll out..getting it painted when i get back from Basic and Tech School.

Re: Sypder Front Bumper

We have people around here with body kits like that and i want to be a little bit different. I was gonna go with the Dragon Z kit, but saw one guy with a lude driving wit it and didn't wanna copy..so i found another one i liked and picked it up..

I am thinking about just making my lude become a spyder though. Which includes the Spyder Hood, Z3 Fenders and i found a paintable spoiler that i like as well...for all three parts it is under 700..But i am gonna cheat and modify my bumper a little bit and shave off part of the bottom lip and cut upwards from the bottom about 1/2 to about 1in. To help prevent scraping..since the bumper is steep and living in a bumpy area doesn't help...

Re: Sypder Front Bumper

lol well Brash i took my aftermarket lights and put them in side holes but didn't really like the way it looked and so i figured I would take a chance and put them in the middle and look great and benefit me more then they did on the sides..Will try to get a picture posted shortly.
