rubber plugs are worse than the actual plug itself. Honestly. I worked at jiffy lube and pep boys.

Go to pepboys buy a drain plug with the same size diameter, but thicker, wider threading. It will plug it up long enough for you to purchase a drain pan.

Wait, are you saying that the oil pn bolts are stripped or the drain plug is stripped, if the oil pan bolts are stripped than dear lord your in a good amount of trouble!!!
that means that you stripped the holes in the block!

therefor rendering your leak very hard to fix, or another road of well... go get a new engine :/

I think you need 50 posts cause they were sick of people just coming here to sell stuff. Which is honestly quite annoying to some people.

And yeah like Thomas said hopefully its not the oil pan itself that would suck to have to trash that engine. Or you could just sell it to me I need a table stand. lol

Pretty sure she is talking about the oil pan drain plug. I think she baught a "help me" plug that's a temporary fix for stripped oil drain plugs. And these plugs are meant to get you home without a tow bill and not to be driven on as a daily driver. VERY TEMPORARY.
As stated before oil pans arnt really all tat pricey. I would just go ahead and peep out ebay. But 100 dollars with gaskets from nappa that's cheap; especially for nappa. Usually nappa is on the more pricey side. IMHO
If your just going oem replacement it shouldnt be that pricey.
But your going to have a hard time finding a used one. The only time you will is if someone upgraded the size of there pan and selling the old. But usually when a pan gets sold it gets sold with the motor.
I would NOT try to fit a larger drain plg in there though like stated before. You could cause metal shavings to enter the oil pan and cause some minor or serious damage to the motor. The risk of that happening is low but why risk it; and the filter should take care of most foreign matter but do it right the first time. Please don't try any duct tape methods.
There is a good reason why they make those temporary drain plugs.
but like I said temporary and not really meant to be driven on.
Also keep in mind that your oil light will not come on untill you drop BELOW 7 lbs of pressure so not much warning. If your below 7 lbs due to lack of oil chances are you have already starved your bottom end of oil for to long. And 7 lbs that's low especially if your turning 3-4 on the tach. Please get your car fixed asap before something bad happens lol.
Also just a fast word of advice, since your taking your oil pan off, now would be a good time to go ahead and clean your oil pick up screen. Those can get clogged over time with foriegn matter and sludge and cause oil pressure to drop over time. So go ahead and clean it off just be on the safe side.
Hope that helps a little :-)

first of all...yes it is the drain plug that is stripped.......good lord i would just buy a new car if it was the whole pan! and thanks for reminding me about the screen ill make sure to do that....and i have looked on ebay or rather my b/f has and he said they were all brand new and expensive and he found an alluminum one that was really expensive but i dont think that would really be a good first mod...or a very practical one either....so i suppose i just need to start cuttin back on my spending and get me an oilpan :\
oh and yes i know that rubber plug was a temporary fix....i just havent had time to get a permanent fix yet.
