Custom Taillights??

I am looking for a pair of custom taillights, but want something that looks similar to stock. I would really like something that has LEDs (like either a dual circle pattern or horizontal bars). If there isn't anything like this I would be looking for something that is like the stock taillights, but without the amber deflector.

What, like this?

Any LED tails on a 5g will be custom. You may find a set on ebay, but they were also custom made by somebody at one point.

Also notice in the pics above where the amber was cleared out. Not hard to do, just make sure you re-seal very good.

Although many actually just smash the amber bits out with a screwdriver or soldering iron.

Those LED ones would be pretty much what I am looking for, but as you said, they would unfortunately have to be custom made. And I like it without the amber. BTW no Altezzas.

You could do an led retro fit for real cheap under $30. Get 2 Project Board a lil bigger then the inside of the lights and 2 the size of the turns. Buy about 50 LED of ebay for about $20. pop the leds in the board wire on a resistor then wire all the leds up leave some wired lose to run the power with. Cover the back of the led with hot glue to seal it. splice the (+) and (-) or get fancy and use a bulb socket . Do the same for the turns just smaller.

theas might be a lil over kill i would just use the 5mm ones
IF you buy led for ebay get them from besthongkong he's good wear i got a few of mine from plus he gives you Free Resistors.

I have all of the bulbs inside done with LED from superbrightleds.com, but I am specifically looking for the custom housing with the LEDs built in. (but as posted earlier I don't know if I can get them that are not rigged).

That's the thing no place that makes led tail light. you can get a led conversion but it's just like i said b/4 but the led bored is made for you and you put it in ur tail light housing, or it's a OE light with the kit but in buy the seller. It's not that hard to do when the ford forum is done with it's upgrades and back up later ill give you a link to how to make one.

I hope this price isnt too ridiculous to ask for as this mod is requires alot of time and effort. So the total price you will be looking at is $225. There's laws governing every aspect of your car...there's a design rule that they must conform to for license plate illumination for example.

We should mention somewhere that if you do clear the amber you need to buy either amber bulbs, or phantom bulbs. The phantom ones look silver but when they light up they go amber.

another reason to take your time on custom mods, the crappier something looks, the more likely you are to get hassled by the law. Quick story, my roomate and I built a mountain style awning and rear deck off our back patio(we live in townhomes). It was built with large logs that you would see in a mountian lodge and was very safe and sturdy. It looked very rugged but nice i.e. had wooden tables built onto the corner posts. The rear of our townhomes are staggered back to none of the other tenants could see our back porch. The complex told us we needed to take it down and replace it with something that we bought and not made. They point blank told us yea it looked good but we want walmart and target stuff here, not handmade, hardwork quality.

My point in all of this, the more crap you add on to your car the more crap you will get from the law. So if you do a good job or spend the money in the first place and dont be cheap then you shouldn't have problems(unless whatever your doing is just rediculous in the first place)

About the taillights, I think the angled LEDs on the insides of the tails throw it off and look ugly. I think he should have kept them all the same uniform and I understand that you cant exactly make the coolest designs with project board and also that since our taillights werent meant for LEDs it also throws it off having a reflective casing lens on them instead of the normally clear lens that newer taillights have that have LEDs in them.
