Help please

I just bought a 98 Prelude from a wrecker service for next to nothing. Car is perfect except it has no key. Any one know a way around the security. Honda wants an arm and a leg for a key, and they need the car. Any help would be nice.

Damn Immobilizers, I don't know a lot about 'em but I think you need the RED key

You will have to get a new ignition along with a new immobilizer if I am not mistaken.

I would say rip out the ignition, by rip i mean use the correct tools to remove it, and just put in a new 1...I know nothing of the immobilizer, but honda prelude Key's are CHIPPED, by that I mean there is a chip inside the key, not that its missing a section of key or anything like that....aaahhhpppshaaww!

Getting it rekeyed I doubt i an option, and if it is, it'll cost you more than the other solutions....although the key and ignition might cost you an arm and a leg on its own

either way you look at it you gonna be spending some cash, just have to decide on what is more your style. do it yourself and change everything out, but risk possibly messing up something else, or have a shop take care of it and have garrunteed work. either way you said you got the car for nothing anyways..just look at it as buying the car.
