Right Direction

Hey can someone point me in the right direction for finding out how to remove Cruise Control. found the PS removal, gonna attempt it this weekend, also need to find the AC removal..and if there is anything else that can be removed to clear out engine space. Thanks.

cruise control.... unbolt the unit, unplug it, go inside your car under the dash take a screwdriver and unhook the throttle cable going from the cruise control to it.

AC go to a shop have them drain the system because venting it to the atmosphere is like a ten thousand dollar fine. start unhooking lines remove the alternator then the ac compressor down low might need to move the power steering pump for a moment too. remove the compressor and condensor and all the lines its unbolts. easy stuff. you need a new belt of a size that i dont remember so that you can still drive the alternator off the crank

psh I'm in Orlando with no AC!! ok well mine didnt work..... but thats not the point here! I took it off for mad JDM power yos!!

Hahaha sorry for my ignorance. I figured since it didnt work and I diagnosed my compressor as the problem.. I'd just ditch the thing and free up the space in the bay and the extra power drain on the crank would be lifted. Not to mention weight reduction.

Re: Right Direction

The pictures don't seem to work, and I'm not sure if it's for 5th gen, but that's the only how-to I could find.

Re: Right Direction

dude...I have no idea why you would want to do that...if this is your DD...man...I would get seriously upset driving around town without P/S and A/C...if my car was a dedicated track car I'd consider it...maybe I'm just getting old...
