knocking sound

hey i'm getting this knocking sound from the front left tire. it only happens under about 5MPH when i'm both breaking and accelerating. i can feel it through the clutch, steering wheel and break pedal. i took it to a shop and they said it could be the engine mounts or the U joints in the front axle. well they tightened the engine mounts and replaced the entire front axle and it was neither of them. so i'm thinking its something in the suspension but i have no idea what in the suspension could make that kind of noise. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

my back passenger tire made a knocking/rubbing sound when I was going about 5mph. I have a auto so i couldnt feel it anywhere but it turns out that it was just low on air. Pumped it back up and its fine now.

possibly could be suspension..i have a similar problem with my passenger front..rubbed bad till almost bald, but mine was connecting. you might check that but if it is knocking it is probably something lose. are you sure it is from within the tire well?

Maybe a bad alignment / unevenly worn tires?
