Cylinder Misfiring

So I fixed the problem about the jolting by changing my spark plugs. One of them was warn out and another one's tip was broken. Before i changed the plugs all 4 cylinders were misfiring. Now only one cylinder is misfiring and it turns the engine light on for a bit and then it turns off. This had been happening for the pas 3 days. I also put a new fuel filter in as well hoping that might fix it but I have had no luck. Any suggestions on what may be causing this misfire?

hey friend...I am having the same trouble...look at all the threads...I think we both have blown motors....or at-least on the way to being blown...a piston ring is going out, allowing blow-by. I just cleaned my IAC valve and that helped with my low RPM smoothness and leaving the light in 1st gear, much more smooth. I am still getting the codes and have done cap, rotor, wires, plugs, thermostat, coolant, cleaned IAC valve, 3 containers of Chevron fuel treatment, and who knows what else. I also need to adjust the valves, leak-down test and compression test...those are the next 3 on my list. I am thinking my motor is almost toast...we"ll see I am still driving everyday!!! Hope this might have helped, I just want my Prelude to run right...DAMN IT!!! lol

You should really have started with the compression test no need to replace all that stuff if it's working fine. The motor isn't toast but it might need a little work.
Do the compression test, if you don't know how just pay for it.

YES do all of the above stuff stated... make sure ur fuel line is A OK... check ur fuel injectors on can be left open to leave the other misfiring due to lack of fuel becuase of the open one. Check ur fuel rail make sure there is no clogs that can be done by just a spray down. check the valves most importantly. make sure they are all in tack. u can also do a scan test when that check engine light comes on to find out the codes... tell me the codes and ill run them through my diagnostic tester thing at school if possible if not ill ask my teacher we jus learned bout miss firing cylinders but i believe there is one or 2 more things u can do to fix this... im drawin a blank due to all my studies... but most definately check what has been said!!!!!!! never say ur lude is blown
