Exhaust Question!

Lately I have been looking around for a cat-back exhaust system for my 97 SH.

I found one that I really like, but it says that it is for non-SH only..

Now I can't figure out why the exhaust would have to be different, my guess is that is has something to do with the ATTS in the SH preludes.

Now if someone could explain why they are different, that would be great!

Also I am planning to remove the ATTS from my prelude, would that make it possible for me to put non-SH exhaust systems on my car?

yes it because of the atts, the exhaust runs a little different than on a base model lude, im not sure if the atts just unbolts from the transmisson i think you need a whole new transmission and that means a whole new motor ( sh engine cannot have a base model tranny bolt up) somebody please correct me if im wrong

The differences between the piping of the base and SH is like 2 inches or so, just cut some piping after the cat. You should be fine, i had to cut some for my RSR exhaust to fit.

@ 97shlewd: I am planning on the jdm h22 Type-S motor which has the LSD Hydraulic Tranny, not the ATTS transmission.

I just need to know now if I will have any problems with a non-SH exhaust after removing the atts.

The only difference is that the SH has a shorter cat.

Hmm, not sure what that would mean really. Would the piping not mount correctly?
