USDM Fogs..Parking lights..

I know theres a write up here around somewhere.., my question is, can't i just run a relay to the parking lights, instead of just re-wiring everything around? just wondering if that can be done

Here in case you missed this in another thread. These are USDM fogs. Get the parts and do it right, otherwise you'll be sorry.

Just remembered also too here in the good ol USA you can't run your fogs while you have your high beams on. This installation guide along with the laundry list of parts helps you do it right and legally.

Which also means if you have your foglights on and you bump your dimmer switch to cut your high beams on then it automatically turns your fogs off, then on again when you dim your lights back to low beams.

okay now I understand your question, so you want to also be able to run your fog lights while only your parking lights are on and not your headlights.

I got you, Let me look at some stuff on the schematic at the bottom of that link I gave you and I might be able to help you out. I'm at work now and I have jury duty in the morning so I might not be able to have you an answer until tomorrow night.

Sure it can be done. Just as you stated it. I have mine wired the same way and have been running them like that for 2 years with no problems from the law. Illegal or not it is doable. It's not like the cops are going to pull you over for it, but if you do get stopped and they notice it you may get a ticket for it.

not to sound mean im very grateful you guys are helping me out, but why would it be illegal to have your fog lights while your parking lights are on? can't i just say there my day time running lamps? for example my friends merc uses his fogs with his parking lights it looks like, so do the mdx's..basically all new cares that come with fogs most likely have the capability to use the fogs with parking lights, how is it illegal? just wondering, thank you for your help tho guys!

Na your right they won't pull you over probably but I was thinking more like at the inspection station they would just slap a big ol rejection sticker on there.

Not illegal to have park lights on w/ fogs. To have your high beams on w/ fogs, see when you turn your high beams on your fog lights are controlled by a relay and they shut off when your high beams are on. They come back on when you dim your lights automatically. I think if you were to wire your fog lights to your running lights this will cause your fog lights to remain on when you hit your high beams on. Again you probably won't get a ticket for it, but if you have a state inspection like I do here in VA it will not pass inspection.
