Thinking about modding mine

hey, i'm sort've just brainstorming right about parts and mods to add to my '97 prelude.

I'm mostly interested in working on the performance aspect of it, not much else- not yet. The problem is, my lude is automatic.

so, just to get some ideas from the forum, what performance mods can i add to an AUTOMATIC 97 model? other than cold air intake

edit: direct links to parts would be nice, thanks

Same questions, same answers...

What do you wish to achieve? What do you wish to use the car for? How much are you willing to spend? These are all questions that need to be answered before the question that you posted.

As for what you can do with the automatic, it's a subject that has been covered time and time again; and funnily enough, always with the same answers.

and that answer will be.......5speed swap and hears why b/c for the amount of money you spend to get ur auto to get about wear a 5speed would you could have done the swap for less. If you have to have the auto kinda like me bad elbow and shift a lot you can still get a nice set up but need to answer the question brash asked.

Well like most everyone guess I/H/E, suspension, brakes, wheels & tires.

Unless you have like 10 grand lying around, then I'd say you could go turbo or supercharger.

what i want it to achieve? get greater acceleration mostly - higher top speed would be nice, but i'd imagine that to cost a little too much

what i use the car for? mainy highway driving. i'd like to use it in winter as well, so i'm leaning towards adjustable springs, even if it may effect the 'smoothness of the ride'

I'm going to put on an intake, headers, and exhaust...not too expensive, but still giving you a little more horsepower

oh hey guys..on the coilover springs that have adjustable hieghts. Is it able to raise teh cars body higher then stock, currently my body kits currently gonna be really close to the ground, i make it lower when at shows, but would like to to be high enough that a small dip in road doesn't cause serious damage, not that it does now, it just barely touches the underside of front bumper. any ideas? comments? advise (not including getting rid of bumper or changing the appearance so dramatically that it alters far from the orginal view.

Not enough,,

As for performance of an auto 5th Gen. If you want to change over to manual. Save yourself the pain and suffering and your money sell your auto 5th Gen and buy a manual.

I read so many post about doing the conversion and the trouble they have and the money they have spent. IMO I think it best to sell the auto and buy yourself the manual. I waited 2 years until I found my manual. Just thought I would put this out there for you just in case you were thinking about doing this.

I am about to start my H22 build, I think that I will go ahead and post a thread about it once I get started, so if you want to follow that. I am currently picking the brain of a guy that has a Integra with a boosted H22A4. His has been running flawlessly so I want to kind of shadow his build as it has proven to be a success. I think he said he has it tuned at around 12 psi. That thing is stupid fast.
