Too good to be true??

I am in the market for a new vehicle, and I really like the 5th gens, but they are a little to much money for me.

Is this too good to be true?

What should I ask in my email to them

judging by the pictures, specs, and price; it looks to be a steal

ask for a carfax report, or try getting one yourself since he's already posted his VIN

also, ask about the condition of the timing belt and water pump as i've learned most honda's need a new one every 100,00 clicks, but i could be wrong

oh, and the handbrake totally looks like the seat's boner!

I sent an email about the timing belt and water pump.

Even If I didn't want a Prelude, I could buy this and turn it around, and probably make like 3k profit...lol

How far from it do you live? Will you be able to go look it over before making a decision? I'd ask (obviously) about routine maintenance (oil change interval, what was used, records of work done to car...)

I had some guys in India try to sell me a couple "nonexistant" 240sxes that they had listed on autotrader and yahoo... they used a very good looking "lufthansa" website to try to get you to send money to them without ever seeing the car... the kicker was you could drive the turbocharged beast for like 2 weeks and then decide for sure if you wanted it... point? Always be careful of car deals that seem too good to be true... there are deals out there, along side the con artists and the lemons. I used the method of pretending I was going to come look at the car even if it was 700+ miles away and that gets them to stop talking to you pretty quick if they are not legit.

Once you send that money to India, it's history.

It's not necessarily fake. Maybe he just wanted to make his car noticeable throughout the country. Its not unheard of for someone to drive over 1000 miles to get a car. Sheeeeit, maybe he would arrange shipping. Riiiight. That car looks amazing, but I'd beware the SH. I'm not saying mine is the same as all the rest, but it has 85K on it...and the ATTS control unit is dunzo. So be careful.

That's a pretty good deal. I've seen a couple of Preludes sell for around that price around my area.

Well thanks to all you helped.

But I am picking up a 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. Its is soooo nice looking.

He was asking $5500, and I talked him down to $3300...haha

Thanks again.

Sorry I wont be joining your "family"

-Kowitz

PS: If any of my friends pick up a Prelude, I will be sure to send them this way
