taking on the bikes

I need to make my Lude at least keep up with my friends bikes, theres like 5 of them but the ones I want to keep up with are the CBR F2, the R1, and the Gixxer, so my Lude needs to go under some serious mods, if you guys have any advise feel free to comment, but I already know pretty much what Im going to do, I just figured Id make a thread and keep you guys and girls posted on my progress

anyone know about how fast a 2008 Gixxer is 0-60? My friend just bought this yesterday after my Lude laid the biggest pwn ever on his Corolla

Yeah I know I have no chance with the R1, mainly the CBR and Gix are the ones I want to keep up with

I dont have to outrun the things, I just need to keep up, Ill make up my lost time in the turns, the guys I run with dont get crazy anyway, like most people who want their knee to scrape, yes the gix is a 600

In general this is what Im going to do, the entire valve train (still debating which cam I should get, and I might mill the head and deck) aluminum flywheel, chip, header, low profiles, sway bars, and a limited slip dif, I also might take out the tranny and mess with the gear ratios, still debating on that though, the supercharger/turbo comes last

Im going to do more to it but Im bored with typing

The only way would be to build up a turbo but still would not get close to the bikes and as soon as you would they would just hit the gas and be gone. Just b/c they don't now wont me they would if pried was on the line.

I recall Ogsmakdade telling me at the tri-state meet that he had a run in with a Bike.

He beat the bike flat out and the bike owner came up to him and gave him a thumbs up.

Of course, OG's was driving his girlfriends fathers Mustang Shelby. Yah. Supercharged. Yah. :cool2:

well good luck keeping up with those bikes.. none of them r slow if u break it down lol.. but ur def gonna have to run a mean turbo setup to keep them at a reasonable distance.

it seems like u wanna just build the head and add almost pointless add-ons... u might be better off getting a nicer bike than them, but all i have to say is good luck with the build!!

form 120 to top end on a bike they lose there ass because the dont cut the air like a car. so go get an accord tranny so you can do over 130 in third and well Im not to sure about the top speed then maybe you can keep up. that and 30psi of boost and slicks

I saw some prototype a couple years back... you basically sat on a viper v10 (I think) with 2 wheels that could do 0-60 faster than a driver could stay on...

So... take your built H22 and LSD off the car and build a little seat on top, mount it to a frame and a rear driven drive train, add a couple handle bars, hang on for dear life, and... have fun... I know you can do it!

to out match a modern 600 CC sport bike you need at least 500-600 WHP ususally. My cousin has a Evo 8 MR bigger turbo and some other goodies I think he's pushing around 300WHP and he has no chance vs my other buddies 600 gixxer, Seriously a 1000cc sport bike will do over 100MPH in first gear man.
My other bud has a heavy modded Eagle Talon TSI AWD he can run 11's in the quarter, but bikes just trash all over him from a dig and from like a 100MPH roll out unless it's a older like 1996 CBR F3 even then they give him a run.

That's my friends talon I was talking about he's running a 11.7 but getting bad traction, I've seen a gsxr 750 with a squid riding pull on him
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=33486250
that talon scares the **** out of me it's so fast, so fun blowing by every car on the street though no matches here in maine even cops are a joke.

Sure, if you have heavy mods you can keep up but never go by

oh here's a shot of his engine

seriously
save the money you would need to overhaul the lude, and just buy a faster car
I've got an 06 GSX600F Katana, and you'd have a hard time keeping up with it with just basic modifications.
For what its going to cost you to rebuild the motor and strip the weight down, you could just buy an older gsxr, r6, or zx6
I wouldn't go with anything less than 600cc if you want to keep up
but I don't have problems keeping up with zx10s, gsxr1000s and R1s
I've seen some really cheap Suzuki RF600s, and GSXR600s for cheap on craigslist
keep the lude clean, and just buy a bike
it gets better gas milage anyway
my Lude = 20mpg
my Katana = 50mpg
5.3 gal tank including a 1gal reserve
4gal @$4 and you can fill up a completely empty tank with $20 and have change left over, and you'll still be able to keep up with your boys.
My lude is sitting at home right now under a car cover, while I'm riding the katana to work and out to eat or whatever
keeps the bird poo off of it ehhee

mr_y82:
That's a dodge tomahawk
and you are correct, its a V10 Viper engine.
The one in your image is the non-street legal version.
Only a handfull of those were made, and they come with the factory with out a drive shaft, so you can't drive it with out mounting one yourself, or having enough cash to convince dodge to leave one on there
Jay Leno has one
Last I heard, Dodge was planning a production line of street legal model, that would be in a much lower price range (like 100k-150k down from 500k) and better ergonomics.

I have a Ninja, but I just want to make my lude keep up with my friends bikes, this thread is simply me thinking out loud, most likely I wont set up my lude to be that fast but Ill probably just make it as fast as I can get it and make that work

Which one, 600, 750, 1000?

You won't be able to do it, I don't care how much you spend on your Lude.

The acceleration of my old 2001 ZX6R was about four seconds or less to 60. But I did drop the front sprocket by one tooth, so that may have contributed to faster acceleration

Ha ha ha, they are guys between what years of age? Ha I think they will push it enough.

You simply can not outrun those type of motorcycles, You won't even be able to hang with a 250 on acceleration.

You might be able to outrun a Suzuki Katana 600 on bottom end, they top out at around 120 to 125, my friend got his up to 130 but he was drafting me on my ZX6R. As soon as he came out of the draft his bike slowed. He sold it the every next day.

Okay I now see you are talking about the 600 GSXR.

Now your statement see above is even more far fetched. Without even scraping my knee on a clover leaf, I ran thru that thing at around 80 to 85 mph try that in a Lude, won't happen.

On second guess don't try that just trust me you'll run right off the road or spin out and crash.

These type of bikes just can't be taken on acceleration or cornering. I outran a Diablo while I was stationed in Germany oon my 01 ZX6R, we were getting on the Autobahn 5 to Frankfurt I hammered it and so did he I left him about 9 to 11 car lenghts but once on the Autobahn he caught up rather quickly. So buy a Diablo or a Z06 and you'll hang.

Good luck...I own two Honda's, my two wheeled variety (an '01 929RR) will blow doors on an '08 Lambo...I love my Prelude but they will never have a chance against a bike, unless the rider is afraid, inexperienced, and well slow...maybe.

If you want to make a valid attempt, in my mind start with..."high quality" low compression pistons, along with some bad ass rods rebuild the motor to accept a high boosting turbo, then throw a Volvo big rig turbo on that biacth...I think 400hp with a true mechanical posi will give you the best chance of your gonna try to "hang with" a sport bike.

Its funny my damned Prelude is on its way to blowing up, so I am laying the plans to do just what I talked about to mine...and ride my other Honda all summer...the key is to do the pistons if you want to get huge power...stock internals will only accept so much power. BEST OF LUCK...I think I will need it too!

I just saw Rob's post...I was in Los Gatos, CA and I was sitting at a red light with a Murcielago, the only reason I wasn't more gone on his was the simple fact, in California if you pick up your front tire most of the time the cops will get you for a HUGE ticket if not tow your bike, so I had to keep the front tire down. The moment I shifted to second I was GONE...and he was trying, then talking with me at the next time,..so I let him try to beat me a total of 4 lights...he did hang...when I was in first trying my best to NOT wheelie away...second NO CHANCE...your truly only chance it to get a lambo or newest Z06 THEN MOD THAT and u can "hang"

OR....buy a sport bike and ride with your friends...I hate riding by myself...the more people on two wheels the more people to ride with...I will watch your progress with interest

ha yep mine was really hard to hold down in first because of that sprocket deal I mentioned earlier. But the Diablo and I were on a rolling start at around 15 to 20 mph. Second gear take off, plus Kawi's are nitorious for the neutral hang up between 1st and 2nd gears.

Yes with a built motor with either turbo or nitrous you could probably get up to their speed, but look at how fast you are now traveling. Do you have enough time to slow down to a safe speed to make the corner? (This blows the heck out of the theory about making up speed in the corners) Because of the mear fact your car at what 3K lbs vs. a 400 lb bike. So now you have to get back up to speed even with turbo the bike is going to sail up to that speed in seconds you more like 20 to 30 seconds or more.

nos is in no way bad for an engine if used correctly but if you want to keep up with bikes you will need it
