Answer me this please!

I am looking to possibly buy an h22 vtec motor with a 5spd tranny.

I would want EVERYTHING included that is needed to get it running.

I already checked the engine site list and there was only 1 that seemed alright.

I am wondering where I could get one for a decent price, I have already looked alot of places but I would like some help.

Thanks

-Dylan

P.S. I already have 2 h22 vtec motors, but my father and I would just like to buy a working one and then try and fix the other 2 and sell them off.

What do you consider decent price? I have only seen complete H22 motors w/ tranny @ around $3500 to $4000 well it was a JDM SiR I believe. Somewhere down in Danville, VA I think I remember seeing that while I was looking for an H22 a few years ago. I was going to try and swap one into my 3rd Gen. So rather I bought my 5th Gen instead and saved.

However I am looking for a H22A4 now for a build you say you have two that aren't working? You want to sell one as is?

Well I have seen some for around 3500-4000, but then I have also seen some around 2700-3200. But those sites don't seem to safe.

I could check with my dad on selling one as is, we no idea what is wrong with them though. I will check with him and let you know.

If you check all the links, some of them don't have h22 engines, some of them don't have anything at all. Then a few seem really sketchy.

8 outta 11 of them have H22 engine + trannies listed.
To spoonfeed you, HMO is prolly the most reputable and reliable site listed there, as well as offering some, if not the cheapest prices.

I got mine for more than I had to pay through my motorsports shop (2800 for block, ecu, and m2b4 LSD)... (I think they hooked me up on labor since I got it from them.)

I too have heard good things about hmotors online, and a couple other online vendors listed in my link to another forum.. they would be as good a choice as any I think.

Alright to everyone suggested I use hmotorsonline.com

they don't have the right h22 I need.

I need an h22 with 5spd tranny with ATTS, not LSD tranny.

Ahh...that clears things up.

your normal JDM H22a doesn't bolt up to the SH tranny. The Type-S motor does, which is also OBD II...good for your needs. If you can afford the type-S(redtop), by all means, purchase that one.

You can also check out our transmission FAQ's if you want to research which transmission you would like to mate the motor too - if you are that is... http://preludezone.com/showthread.php?t=1980

Ugh, so confused.

This is hard to comprehend. But I am trying.

So is this the engine your talking about?

Well if a rod hasn't come thru the side of it I'm not concerned with it. One thing though will the crank turn? I will be tearing the whole thing down and having it re sleeved anyways.

Hmm, I have yet to check with him, its hard to do when I am in texas, since I live in Kansas, and my parents are not exactly crazy about getting on the computer.

But chances are I will be home in a week, if you can wait that long.
