Steering wheel question

I posted this in my noob thread earlier, i figure ill get a better response here.

The vehicle i just bought was a prior front end wreck and both air bags have been deployed, but the previous owner was able to cover the passenger side with a piece of vinyl to make it appear almost factory, but the steering wheel looks kinda crappy so i was going to replace the wheel with a racing style one. My predicament here is that i dont want to lose the cruise control. Since the cruise is just 2 buttons on the wheel, couldnt you just install 2 more buttons elsewhere (like where u turn on the cruise to the left of the wheel) and run the wiring that way? Has anyone on here ever done something like this before? I figure its a matter of tracing the cruise wires from the steering wheel harness and rerouting them to the new button location.

I am going to school for Auto Body so ive got a decent idea of whats going on, i just would like some input on the matter from someone who has possibly done this before. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my first Honda too BTW so dont flame me too hard!

This may seem like a noob question, but what kind of adjustments must be made for this? just a hub adaptor or anything else?

sounds like the s2k wheel is the way to go. i may have missed it on the how-to, but is a hub adaptor required on the s2k wheel conversion?

nope. hubs are only required for aftermarket steering wheels, and since the S2K is a stock wheel.... no hub needed

S2K wheel is really the only choice. Fitting an aftermarket wheel isn't really an option since you lose your airbag, unless you buy a Momo or Nardi airbag equipped wheel, which would cost more than fitting five or six S2K wheels.

Having said that, the short-lived hybrid, the Insight has the same tiller as the S2K, just that it's plastic not leather.

I kind of like that S2K steering wheel. Going to check link for initial costs.

OUCH!! $600 bones na I think my good ol 5th Gen wheel will do just fine. Well until airbag deployment happens, I see your point.
