Icon5 JDM F23A swap into my 96 base.

Alright, I'm gonna start this off by saying I've searched and searched and searched and haven't found the answers I need. So please don't yell at me. The F22A1 in my 96 model has 272k on it, and has started losing oil pressure over the past few months. Down to 8-10 at hot idle, and was at 16-20 when I first installed my Speedhut gauge. Isn't knocking that I can hear, but I know it's tired. And it has just recently started to burn oil, which it never did before. I've had a JDM F23 swap on my mind for quite awhile now, for a few reasons. Gas mileage, which is very important as I do a lot of driving. Slightly more power, which honestly doesn't matter all that much. I prefer reliability over power for now, as I will eventually be building an H23 for this car. And lastly, price. F23s are dirt cheap, both in junkyards and to import. Also, the reason I'm not doing an H swap is because my budget is limited right now. However, there are a few challenges I've discovered in putting this motor in my car, firstly being the ECU. JDM ECU has no immobilizer, but I've read it won't communicate with a US scanner, so if there was ever a problem I wouldn't know exactly what it was. I'm watching a USDM 5 speed ECU with a matching key and cylinder and all on eBay right now, but I have no idea if the ignition will bolt in place of the Prelude's, if the electrical connectors would be the same, etc. I've also read that an OBD2 F22B1 ECU would work since the engines are so similar and there is no immobilizer, but that it would throw a CEL for no rear O2 sensor or something of that sort. Then comes the issue of OBD2A vs 2B, if I'm not mistaken. Next is the fact that I've read that JDM and USDM F23s are different in terms of sensors. Read that you have to extend some wires, swap sensors, etc. There's just this huge gray area that I would like to clear up since I am hoping to swap my car in the next 2 months or so, and it can't be down for very long. I really need to just slam this thing in and be going again. So, can someone please shed some light on all this for me? Nobody really likes these motors, so there isn't much info on them. But it's an ideal swap for me. So I'd like to do it. Thanks guys.

I want to stay OBD2. The only guy local to me that can tune half decently sold his setup and doesn't tune anymore. Plus I prefer OBD2 for now.

IMO never good idea to run engine with wrong ecu

anyway budget builds never come actually cheap - you have to do some rebuilding to the replacement engine if you want to make it last so at the end you lose some money if youre going to get H23 there anyway

The H23 is going to come much later as I plan for it to be fully forged, i.e. very expensive. I do want to run the F23 with the correct ECU. The correct OBD2 ECU. But I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do that. Hence why I'm here, asking for help.

As I've said already, there's only one guy local to me that can tune decently, and he sold his setup and doesn't tune anymore. I'm pretty much left without a choice. Gotta make OBD2 work somehow.
