Wheel Offset choice

I'm looking at some volk racing TE37 rims for my 92 prelude. They offer it in it a 33 and a 38 mm offset. I want a little bit of a lip on these wheels and as close to the fender as possible. What offset should I get? I don't know how to figure out what I need.

Re: Wheel Offset choice

All depends on what width & diameter.

I've run 16x8 +38 Enkei's on the front and 16x7 +32's on the rear with 225/40R16's all round and still have a decent fender clearance with below legal ride height, I could stand to go a bit lower if I wanted. I've also run a 215/45R17 on a 17x7 +35 all round without dramas despite being a larger tyre overall. I had to roll the fenders but that's not where they scrub, it's destroyed my inner fenders where the tyres rub at full lock but that's no big drama.

Try Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit and play around with some numbers, you'll get an idea what changing offsets and widths does for your clearances.

Re: Wheel Offset choice

I'm looking at some 17x8 volks with 225/40 or 45/17 what do you guys think of that?
Also I can get them in +33 or +38 offset

Re: Wheel Offset choice

Despite your best efforts TypeT, saying nothing is sometimes just as helpful.

A 17x8 +38 with a 225/40R17 is basically the same specs as what I run so should fit just fine unless you plan on slamming it on its ass. You'll probably want to roll the fenders though. A 225/45R17 will probably be a little snug as the overall diameter is about 4% larger.

Re: Wheel Offset choice

I don't plan on slamming it so I should be good. I'm just having a hard time finding the rims I want
