Icon5 Question about foglight wiring.

I know a thousand threads have been made about foglights and their installation (trust me, I've read them all). However, I cannot seem to find an answer to my question: Can I wire in my JDM fogs to come on independently of my parking/headlights? From what I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong), the foglights will NOT be on with the brights (hi-beams). I've heard of Luders wiring the fogs to come on the same time as their parking/marker lights (making the switch irrelevant?). My question is, can I install my fogs in such a way that they are able to be turned on/off with the switch at any time, no matter what other lights may/may not be on (no headlights/parking lights on, or with hi-beams on)? I've not ever messed with much in the way of vehicle electronics/wiring, so the lights may already function as I want them to, and my post may be pointless. I'd be very appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction. If it helps, I have the fogs, the JDM switch, and a four pin relay for under the dash that I believe will work (OE fog relay part # is RC-2201, I have a RC-2203, came out of an Accord). Again, any help is greatly appreciated. I will be doing the installation at class today (automotive technology) if I can get everything figured out by then. Thanks again.

Re: Question about foglight wiring.

Update: I have the switch and relay installed, and I see now that the switch only operates when the headlights are on, which is what I was afraid of. I'm hoping to be able to make the switch operate independently of any other lights.

Re: Question about foglight wiring.

Update: Fogs are wired in and work. Had some issues getting the JDM plug to go into the USDM pigtail, so I just cut the wiring at the pigtail and wired in the JDM one. Gonna have to take them back out and change the bulbs, as they're not quite the right color. More blue than white. Hopefully, I'll know what to do with the wiring by the time I get my new bulbs.
