1995 Prelude Circle Track Car Build

So i bought this 1995 Prelude with an H23a1 in it to build for a circle track racer wayyy up here in Maine. I plan on swapping in a H22a1 that i have laying around. I am in the process of stripping out all of the stuff i don't need. ie: power steering, A/C, the entire dash, etc. As far as vacuum lines go what can i get rid of totally? And wiring, the car already has the wires for the V-tec so the engine swap will be plug and play. is there any wires going to the interior of the car i need to keep besides ECU and FP? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: 1995 Prelude Circle Track Car Build

Be careful taking out dash. I've dirt car raced four cylinder preludes for 9 years now. My first one I took the dash out and it won't start. I didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure it out so I've just left them in over the years. Plus it protects the ecu. What's the name of the track? Any YouTube videos?

Don't get rid of that H23 either. Some guys shave the heads on them and they run good. I got beat this year by a 93 lude with a shaved H23. He had LSD though so he got disqualified.

Re: 1995 Prelude Circle Track Car Build

I've got a 93 Prelude I figure 8 race in Washington. When I built mine I ripped out the dash, but regretted it. If you decide to get rid of it, make sure you unplug everything and don't cut wires. Also I found that leaving the stock gauge cluster is the best. And If you get rid of the electronic fuel gauge it's hard to replace. Here's some videos of mine.

I've got some pictures but not sure how to post them. I'm a noob here.

Re: 1995 Prelude Circle Track Car Build

That's Awesome... Unfortunately i have already removed the entire dash and all of the non essential wiring. I have been going back and forth about using the H23 i would just need to do a few things like shave the head, have the cams reground, put on the H22a1 TB and injectors and get the computer programmed. But since i have to swap in the H22 trani i was just going to put the whole package in as it would be cheeeper initially... Does anyone know what hind of gains i would see working the h23?

Re: 1995 Prelude Circle Track Car Build

Since all of the wiring for it was gone went and removed the ABS Pump. And will be finishing up the full delete soon.
