Icon2 My tachometer "panics" =(

Hello everybody,

My name is Malik and i'm from France. I've got a 94' Prelude swaped with a japanese F22Si (166hp) block.

Since 1 month, I've got a big problem. When i drive during few minutes, my tachometer "panics" and it's impossible to accelerate (I feel that the mototr chokes).
I changed several parts :
_Throttle Position Sensor
_Injectors
_Distributor
And I disassembled and cleaned the air intake... But this problem is always here ...

You can see this on the video on this link

Thanks =)

Re: My tachometer "panics" =(

The good news is your RPM isn't actually varying that wildly. The Tacho takes it's readings directly off the ICM inside the distributor, I'd suggest if the motor isn't running well too that you look at that first.

Make sure the ground on the thermostat housing is tight, had the same problem with my prelude a few years ago, changed so many parts including the distributor and it ended up being that ground being loose.

You don't have to disassemble anything on the thermostat housing itself, you can see the ground in the picture its on the bottom of the housing being held by a 10 mm bolt, wiggle it and see if it's loose.
