Re: help please spark

You are disconnecting spark plugs while the engine is running? Hmm... are you sure this cylinder is misfiring? Does it throw a misfire code?

Did you also change the distributor cap at the same time as the rest. It could be your ignition control module too. Have you checked the timing?

If you are really worried you can buy or maybe rent spark testers, or do the good ol' spark plug against the block technique to see if you actually do have spark.

I didn't understand the question. Halfway through that one extremely long sentence I lost track of what was being said.

Periods and Caps please.

Re: help please spark

Okay, kinda lost me too.. This might sound silly, but since you've changed your cap and plug wires at the same time, make 100% sure your distributor is isn't put on 180 degrees the wrong way, sounds like a dumb problem but the 'mechanic' who worked the car before I bought it did this.. check your manual, if you have one, to see that the distributor is facing the right way up, THEN check that your plug wires are hooked up in the right order.. I say this cause I got new plug wires, hooked them up in the right order, but the distributor was facing the wrong way, guess I trusted the "mechanic's" work too much, so I hooked the plug wires up opposite to what they should be instead of messing with the distributor, and she went smooth again...
