Coolant Leak/ Hose Question

Hey everyone,
This is my first Honda platform, but anyway I have a 92 Si, with an F22B, I was driving a few days ago and came up to a light and sat for a few minutes, heard a *poof* then white smoke poured out of the engine bay, none from exhaust. Got the car to a gas station and had it towed home. It starts and runs fine but is obviously dropping coolant out as soon as it gets put in. I can see the hose the leak is coming from, but can you guys tell me what exact hose I need and any tips on replacing it? Seems to run towards the driver side but can't tell after that.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Coolant Leak/ Hose Question

Is the clamp still on it? I looks like it just popped off the nozzle it was on.

But from the angle of the pics, I can't tell what location in the engine bay you're at or how large the hose is because I can't make out any other part for reference.

Any chance you can take pics from further away a little, or specify where in the bay this hose is? Or maybe someone else can tell and will chime in.

Re: Coolant Leak/ Hose Question

If it just popped off, check the clamp that holds it on. Maybe it was stripped out the last time the hose was installed OR it could have not been tightened enough. If the hose is ripped or ruptured or if the end of the hose is flared, you should replace it. Take it to one of the major parts houses near you and they can match it up to a new one. Chances are, that if that one is "worn" the others are probably right behind it unless they were recently replaced.

Re: Coolant Leak/ Hose Question

I had some issues with the photos, but I am going to go out on a limb here and say you need to replace the hose that failed....

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Re: Coolant Leak/ Hose Question

I'm guessing it's one of your heater core hoses, prolly the return hose.
Almost positive the black plastic piece to the left of your circle in the 1st pic is the valve that opens/closes depending on which fan speed setting you set the heat to. That valve is on the heater core supply hose, so the one that popped off is most likely the return hose.
