Re: avital alarm system not working

Yes there are fuses under the dash and in the cabin, being a best buy add-on alarm then it's anyone's guess which circuit they actually bashed it on to though. Some 4th gens had central locking but none of them had an alarm or immoboliser so there isn't a dedicated circuit for it. Best bet, pull out your fuses one by one, see if it is blown (it will have a big gap in the metal part and possibly be a little black) then replace. The fuse ratings are written on the fuses and you can double check this against the diagram IN THE CAR.

Which system is it precisely? I'm guessing it doesn't have an immoboliser or your car wouldn't start. Someone hasn't just turned the thing off with the key? In my experience with these things if you cut the power to them then they usually have a battery backup and will go into alarm until you reconnect the power or turn the unit off.

Failing any of this, take it back to the people who installed the thing, they usually have some sort of warranty. Being that it isn't a Honda gizmo and there are around 40,500,000 results when you Google "car alarm" then I doubt anyone has the exact same alarm as yourself, and none of us can see the car.

BTW, are you a Kanye fan?
