Fuel Leak leads to poor performance

Hello everyone, I am writing this to hopefully help others that are having the same issue. I had a constant gas smell in my car when it was running so I knew there was a fuel leak. I could really notice the smell when heater or ac was running. Also my car would bog down when accelerating, and then would jump back to normal when I was going a constant speed. Where the fuel line meets the fuel rail, there is a flange that has a hose that runs from the fuel pressure gauge to the flange. On the inside of the flange, there is . Small o ring( not sure on size). You remove to bolts, and the flange will come off. if the o ring is flat, the nipple the hose hooks to on the flange will move around and seem broken, but it is not. Replace the o ring and put the flange back on. Fixed my problems right up. I no longer experience the smell of gas or the bogging in accelerating. I hope this helps with some issues some may be having. here is a picture of the flange

where the hell is your fuel pressure regulator? it would be very wise not to drive the car unless you want a car fire.

Re: Fuel Leak leads to poor performance

Whoa, I was looking at that black plate thinking something looked horribly wrong but my brain didn't even register the lack of FPR... it must be Friday.

I double checked kodylane's other threads, there is an aftermarket in-line FPR in there. Phew, no fires today (hopefully). That plate adaptor looks pretty ghetto though, maybe you'd have less issues with a better one. The stock fuel pressure regulator is more than adequate unless you actually need to adjust your fuel pressure for tuning purposes too.

Re: Fuel Leak leads to poor performance

It does have an aftermarket FPR. The flange I have a picture of is not in the best shape but doesn't leak since I replaced the o ring. also I agree that if you smell the gas or know that you have a fuel leak, then I would not drive it due to catching fire and also wasting a lot of fuel.

Feels good to eliminate guess work, when u can see everything, u can see what's wrong too. A dirty engine is just a mystery in every way.

it does help to be able to see what's going on. I hate looking at an engine and it's covered in oil and God only knows what. You don't make good progress on replacing the things that actually need it

Doesn't take long for them to get dirty if you don't keep up on things. I finally got mine all leak free and clean. Finally got the stock bumpers and side skirts as well so I can be done with the crappy riced out body kit lol
