First Prelude

Hey guys, Whats up, im about to pick up my first Prelude tomorrow
its a 1996 with an H23a1, Im getting it fairly cheap, only problem is P1361. its for the TDC sensor. Anything to it? I am a DIY guy and I am a tech over at Volkswagen. Any forewarnings before I get my hands on this sweet little thing?

Already drove it it drives pretty amazing its a 5spd manual and has 210K miles. I figured that's not really much since I've been driving my delSol for a few years and right now pushing 280k miles with no issues.

Thanks guys

Cool! Welcome to the site.

Rust...they rust.
And sometimes the oil pressure sensor bleeds oil. Other than that....

Re: First Prelude

All Gen. Prelude Service Manuals
^^ download a manual.

If it starts ok and runs ok, and doesn't need to pass a smog test soon...
But the manual will help you figure how to troubleshoot it. It's what the Honda techs use JG.

Got me Mat. I just know that there are times the sensor for the 2.3 in the 4th gen goes to leaking in the center....bad. like a quart in 10 minutes and big ole puddles where you park. Easy enough fix though.
Normally oil pressures sensors are easy to replace..but on your SH? not the case. Unless your mechanic is a wizard at getting to parts in tight spaces, it's an hour long job (for experts) on the SH thanks to the good ole ATTS.

Re: First Prelude

Quite likely.

But go to honda parts now.com, type in your car, then find the part number. Type said part # into the search bar. It'll populate a list of cars it works on.

Since you have a part number already, try typing it in the search bar.
