Icon5 95 Honda Prelude si 5 speed A/C predicament...

After a fricken hit and run in a parking lot, (Had to of been a truck with a hitch) my front end was severely damaged. The two lines running to the receiver and my condenser are torn/bent and damaged. I had to remove the condenser, and now the system stands open to the air, pressure was lost before I got back to my car (I know the chemical release is illegal, but not my doing). All lines (discharge/suction) are still in tact as well as the compressor. I am not a/c savvy, so am unaware of how to go about this. I never used the a/c, it worked, but I always figured that's what the moon roof was for. So to leave it not working wont be an issue. I am just unsure of how to go about it. Ive heard that I can instal a bypass pulley, but also that if my compressor pulley still turns freely that I can just disconnected the a/c compressor clutch electrical connector so it wont engage, and run like that? Any ideas or advice? Thank you.

Sounds like you're already half way to an A/C delete. You CAN just leave the A/C compressor in place and pull the electrical plug out so that it doesn't accidentally get switched on if it still turns freely, or it's not a lot of work to pull the compressor all together and remove the lines back to the bulkhead. If you remove the compressor you will need a new alternator belt, around 915mm is perfect. I managed to do mine with a 895mm belt but it is very tight and hard to get over the pulley even with the alternator adjusted all the way in.
