p28 - s300 VTEC Spool Check Error

Hello Luders,

Got me a problem with my ECU. I got a p06 and got a friend to convert into a p28 and hook up with Hondata S300.

Problem is as soon as we fire the car up she throws a hard code - VTEC Spool check error and the car does not go into VTEC. Tried disabling the check and still same result - no VTEC. Tested connectivity from the ECU to the solenoid - good. Checked solenoid with 12v - good.

Seems while the VTEC spool check is enabled she runs very rough, once disable she calms down quite a bit. Bit, doesn't go into VTEC any case.

Anyone know what the problem might be? Faulty ECU modding?

Problem solved. After comparing to a working ECM, on of the jumpers was missing. Put the jumper in across the two leads and BAM, VTEC kicked in yo!
