Need a few answers please.

Question 1: How much would it cost to redo my whole suspension system on a 1993 honda prelude si. Like the struts, shocks. suspension whatever its all called. Ruffly how much do you think all the parts would cost?

Question 2: My prelude starts and runs first try every time. Every once in a while it will kinda act like its gunna die but then it revs itself then idles fine a few seconds and does it about 2 - 3 times before it idles n runs normal again. It never dies when it does it though.Any idea what would be causing this? It has an h23a1 in it.

Question 3: I recently bought a touchscreen car dvd player and installed it but the clip didn't fit the one in the dash so I cut the clip off the dvd player harness n wired the clip from my old alpine 2 it. Now everytime I shut my car off the fuel pump still runs for about 10 seconds and the power windows still get power for a few minutes any idea why its doing that? Everything is wired right and it never happened when the alpine was in there

Sorry to ask so much. I just wanna fix all these things myself because I know for a fact most mechanics and shops will lie and tell you that you need more than you really need and charge more than it actually costs.

Any answers would be highly appreciated.

Re: Need a few answers please.

1. Suspension is going to depend on what you want to do with it (aftermarket parts or OEM)

2. could be some electrical component turning on causing it to make the motor die down a little bit. do you have aircon on at the time? hows coolant levels?

3. sounds like one of the wires has been connected to another one that it should not have been. As to what wire it could be, I have no idea. the only wire that goes to the headdeck that has power after the car is off is the memory wire and that is a constant power. Maybe something is grounding out

1. Depends, like 5h4d0w said. A decent aftermarket setup, with coilovers (or new springs/shocks), new bushings, new top hats, pillowball mounts, etc, would probably be in the ballpark range of ~$2000. You could do an OEM setup which might cost more or less depending on if you buy brand new or if you buy used.

2. I heard about this problem before... Can't tell what though, look at the rough idle thread.

3. Thats weird and I have no idea.

Re: Need a few answers please.

1. All ball joints will run you roughly $300-400
Bushings $200
Aftermarket coilovers $700-1000+
Stock dampers and shocks, or oe equivalent I'm not to sure...
There's more to it, but completely redoing it all will be around $3k
2. Tune up, fuel filter, plugs + wires, air filter, seafoam, cap + rotor, etc

3. Windows keep power when cars shut completely off until doors open.
Do some searching on your fuel pump issues, it could be normal, and just finishing priming the system for the next use.

Well the only difference between this head unit and the alpine is that this 1 has a break check wire that is meant to keep the screen from displaying images until you are stopped or until the breaks are pressed. But you can connect it to the head unit ground wire to make it play videos while your driving which is wat i did so my fiance and my 2 year old son can watch it when we go places. Mabe I should just directly ground it?

Re: Need a few answers please.

The radio wiring should not have an affect on the windows or the fuel pump.
They are completely different systems...

Thats strange because the windows never kept power after I turned off the ignition before I put the touchscreen dvd player in and the fuel pump always stopped immediately when I turned off the car.

Also I have another question.

A few days ago the pipe that goes from my exhaust manifold to my catalytic convertor kinda like broke off or came unwelded about an inch from the catalytic convertor (dont ask why but the old owner basically just has the whole exhaust system welded together instead of bolted.) Would it be possible for it to be welded back on for now?
cant quite afford to replace the covertor yet. I know its cheap but I dont got much income right now and what money I do have goes on bills and taking care of my son and my fiance

Also what would that piece of pipe be called in case I need to replace it too?

Re: Need a few answers please.

if after you turn it off, you will still get power to the windows for a bit if you leave the key in... i think so too if you take the key out, it shuts off when you open your door?
