95 Honda prelude si 2.3 l temp gauge

hi im new to the honda scene. Infact this prelude is the first import ive ever owned. My temp gauge is always reading cold. i know on fords and chevy's you can ground the temp sensor terminal to check to see if the gauge is working. how can i test to see if i have no signal going to the gauge or if its the sensor that went bad.

^not true

If your fans are always on the sensor could be screwy.... And I mean starts with cold start.

Re: 95 Honda prelude si 2.3 l temp gauge

Check the diy section. The all service manuals thread. Download a pdf manual.

Do your fans run w/o your a/c and or defroster on? Even on cold start?

But your gauge should still move up some. The thermostat should choke the cold coolant for a minute or two at first. Sounds very possible your temp sending unit is malfunctioning.

The manual will help locate relays, switches and sensors. And show some trouble shoot how to's.
