What the hell?!

That's the retaining screw for the front passenger turn signal. It's flat! It's so flat it looks like someone intentionally ground down and polished the head! What in hell am I supposed to do now?

Re: What the hell?!

Ugh! PITA bro.

Drill out to the rescue!!!

Those screws are kinda soft. First soak it with WD40. You should be able to make a pilot hole then the drill out tool or use 10mm drill bit to drill through the screw.

Re: What the hell?!

I know that screw extractors are a thing and should have thought of that... I think I just lost my temper for a minute there when I realized the epic scale of the stripping on that screw and that it was deeply recessed so that there was no way I was getting vice grips on it. Also I had already cut my bumper for the e36 fog install when I got to this point...

Thanks man, off to the tool store for me!

Re: What the hell?!

If you can reach your hand around in there, that white plastic tab the screw's in is like a clip you can pinch out and open up if the screw is backed out a little. That way you can access the side of the screw also.

Re: What the hell?!

Take the bumper off for better access, finish knocking down the head, the screw will come with the retainer, replace with new retainer and screw
