Very sad. Unknown problem. Seems like fuel...

92ī 4th gen F22A1 I/E

ran perfect till tonight

Tonight I went to the strip. Noticed all running perfect untill I got aligned with my rivel and I launched. Reaching 4000+ rpm I felt kinda cut off o something like that, in other words, a car just hopped brutally few times then went accelerating almost normally. Checked it in different gears - the same sht (((

ignition, fuel pressure, what the hell can it be?((
Iīm very very dissapointed now cause waited two weeks for this nights event and fuuuu

please help with ideas :(

Which of these maintenance items have you gone the longest without checking?

-Plugs/wires/distributor cap & rotor
-Fuel Filter
-Air filter
-O2 sensor
-Fuel pump

Any bogging or cut-off will usually have to do with fuel and/or air delivery or you ECU compensating for what it thinks it's getting. Using a bottle of Seafoam to clean the internal components you can't get to wouldn't be a bad idea either I'd say.

Re: Very sad. Unknown problem. Seems like fuel...

Thank you guys!

The problem is progressing. Now bogging at any revs and stalling when dropping the clutch too. ((((((((((((((

- I changed my Bosch platinum plugs for recommended cooper NGKs just yesterday before the event. Checked them out now and theyīre fine. NGK wires are fine too. What can occur with dizzy?

- I think the problem is in the fuel system, donīt checked it yet, today I went to measure my fuel press and didnīt found anyone in my neighbourhood who has a frkn gauge! (( Checked my fuel press regulator (itīs fine).
Injectors was checked for even flow rate (passed!) and cleaned with ultrasonic like 4 months ago.
Gotta wait till monday, in my location there are no open service centers over there... Itīs why I didnīt checked my dizzy/coil today too, all was just closed. ((

- My engine has only ~7000km on it after total rebuilding with jdm parts... Resleeved, valve train changed, oil, water pumps too, etc...

- My car HAS NO o2 sensor! I bought it without it (a previous owner just cut out a part of exhaust from downpipe to tailpipe with sensor on it, I guess, īcause when I put in a new exhaust I didnīt seen anything looking like an o2 sensor anywhere), and it was running fine one year. No knock, no smoke, no power issues. No CELs. Confused.
- Air filter not checked yet but I guess itīs fine. I have CAI.
- Reseted ecu few times - no result ((

I got so dissapointed yesterday then I just fell sick in da bed. Hoping being better tomorrow. Will check for jumped dist belt (better safe then sorry, can it be?), and other stuff you mentioned... As I said, I gotta wait till monday to do any major diagnostics... ((

unfortunately here in my location I canīt get Seafoam.
Yes, I heard plenty of good reference about this product.

sorry for my english (Iīm russian living twelve years in Peru)
and thank u all for trying to help
īll wait for further suggestions of you

Re: Very sad. Unknown problem. Seems like fuel...

Check air filter, but also change out your fuel filter if you haven't done that yet. It's like $15 dollars and is most likely the cause of your issue... It's probably just clogged.

Cap and rotor definitely too... The fuel and ignition system work together.... You can't have power without air and fuel, and you can't have power if your spark is not up to par...

And you said you changed the spark plugs before it happened?? Did you properly gap them?

Re: Very sad. Unknown problem. Seems like fuel...

so I even more confused now...

engine started normally, ran fine few minutes, then I tried to accelerate slightly, revved it to 3 - 4k rpm, then engine started to misfire, to cough and to not maintaining idle, then it stalled...

after this first attemp, even worse - I have been able to start an engine few times more, but it was going like around 400 - 500rpm unstable and stalled all the times in 2 - 5 seconds

checked:

- air filter - FINE
- Spark Plugs - FINE, gap is <1mm, anyway I, put in the previous Bosch 4 electrode plugs, just in case...
- distribution belt - FINE, I think so. It bends a little, but not much, if I pull it strongly it gives up 1/4 of inch or less (itīs normal,I guess?)
- there are no CELs
- distributor cap - I think is FINE (but not so sure, I never opened it before)
- injectors - all injectors ohmage is 3.1 - 3.5... As I know, F22 injectors must be within 1.5 - 2.5 ohms following the owners manual... Last time I checked them, there was 2.2 - 2.3... what the hell? but how they could die all together? I think itīs something different

didnīt measured injectors voltage nor pulse īcause my battery died then

What can it be? Please, give me a bit of hope, īcause you know, the
incertitude is the worst condition
