interesting stuff found on my prelude

whats up, found some interesting things on the prelude with h22a swap:

1. i looked at the ecu and it was straptied, and i looked ay it further and it says in marker "P13 skunk2" im guessing its a different pcm than stock because the mounting holes are different, hence the straptie

2. car hesitates while in vtec, hmm not sure about that one.

3. previous owner wired the fan to stay on all the time while key is turned to on posi. wth for? lol

4. ac compressor spins freely by hand (idk is is supposed too?) ac fan does not work, checked fuse, will be checking the fan itself.

5. creeking noise on passengerside front, could be ball joints ( cant be havin it sound like that)

6. engine has 9/7 on the head by the exhaust manifold, so im assuming its from a 98 prelude?

Re: interesting stuff found on my prelude

unless it's an H22A4, it's not from a 97-01 prelude.

your fan is wired on all the time because your fan switch is probably bad, so the PO most likely ghetto rigged it.
someone rigging your cooling fan is probably why your ac fan is not working.
it's also possible that the relay is bad, and that's why they're both working improperly. check the wiring to see if it was tampered with.

if the car hesitates in vtec, check the screen on your vtec solenoid.

you might also want to do an EGR cleaning.

don't know what to tell you about the ECU, can't help without pics.

That's what my head says too and Ive determined that it most likely came out of a 98 also.

I agree. Probably has a flashed chip in it that someone flashed with a "skunk2" map. Who knows

Re: interesting stuff found on my prelude

Ok good. Now for the good news. Vtec works. I changed the solenoid gasket, dizzy o ring, cam cap, valvecover gasket shes no longer leaking oil that I can see.

Few more things to fix: POziptied the iat to the throttle cable, why? Because the genuis couldnt get the old one off the intake manifold.will be take the upper manifold off and use vice grips to make an attempt as the screws are stripped.

Thrn figure out how to clean that haze off of the headlamps.

When turning on thelights at night the car would drop in rpm, got a new battery, did the same thing, got to alternator rebuilt, doent do itso badly
