How can I tell what ECU I have and where is it located?

Re: ECU question

Have you downloaded a manual from the diy section? Not trying to be a weisenheimer. That pdf will answer a ton of questions you may have and the fluid intervals along with wiring and a bunch of ecu symptoms for cel are in it.

It's printed on the back of the unit itself. I think it's in the passenger floorboard in the 4th...

Pretty much got flamed for driving like a jackass and was told to slow down. And I'll be damned, slowing down fixed it.

Yep! Pull back the carpet from the firewall on that passenger side and you may have to unscrew the 6 nuts holding the sharp metal bracket over it if the previous owner reinstalled it.

It's kinda hard to tell sometimes which letters on the sticker indicate what ECU you have, so maybe google a couple pics of 'P13 ECU' or 'P28' and you'll figure it out in no time.

Re: ECU question

On one side of the ECU you'll see a white label with a bunch of numbers on it. My P72, for example, is labeled 37820-P72-A01. The A01 denotes a manual transmission ECU; an automatic would have a 5 after the A instead of a 0.
