Help with transmission problem

so i recently swapped a h23a vtec on my 92 prelude now when i try to put it in first gear it shifts but when i release the clutch its not doing anything its not even stalling. Can someone please tell me whats wrong? thanks

Grab the clutch fork, and shake up-down and left-right to see if it moves.
It shouldn't (or barely).

could have busted the center out of the clutch disk. highly likely if u had any troubles getting the trans input shaft to line up with the clutch disk when u were mating the engine and trans together and tried to use the bolts to suck the trans to the engine.

I've done it.
