My H23 does the same thing can't figure it out. Usually does it worse in second.

Funny you say that buddy. That's what a friend of mine said. I'm running the jdm dizzy and ran the wires to the coil. Seems to run the car but my redline is early and it doesn't have that good ol 1-2 punch!

Re: Jdm h22 is holding back power

lack of power can be many things. First off I would give your car a full tune up. Spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. You would be surprised how much will change with just a new distributor cap and rotor. Also check your ignition timing. If you don't know how to do that take it to someone that does. It's an odd process on our cars to set it correctly.

A quick glance at the distributor mounting points will tell you a lot ( I mean where the bolts go through ) they are slotted to adjust the timing, so if the distributor is turned clockwise ( towards the front of the car ) the timing is way to retarded causing it not to have enough ignition timing in top end and that will make it feel laggy.

But like I said before, give your baby a full tune up and go from there.
