I'm back with a new ride

Well unfortunetly for me I traded my 89 si 4ws for an 03 nissan sentra ser spec v last winter. Sounds like a good trade I know, that's why I did it. What I didn't know was the engine had pre-cat failure (typical for the engine) and was loosing compresion by the day. Drove it for less than a month untill it developed a rod knock and refused to start again. At the end it was only running 30 lbs of compression in each cylender. Ended up trading for an 88 bmw 735I witch ended up being a decent car after I put about $800 into it. Eventualy it was looking like a decent ride untill more noises started coming from the suspention and I decided to trade and cut my losses. Unfortunetly most people are scared of bimmers so it was kinda hard to get rid of. Was looking to trade for an integra but no one wanted to trade. Eventualy I stumbled upon a 93 prelude si that had been up for trade for over a month. Looks like somone might be a bit desperate, lol. Ended up meeting him the next day and traded straight up.

Its a 93 prelude si 5 speed and it just rolled over 200k. It has been wrecked slightly in the front but don't look to bad. The engine definetly burns a lot of oil but I kinda expected it to (at least its not a nissan). The muffler fell off so its kinda loud (just means I'm gonna get an exhuast sooner lol). The kid had 5% window tint installed and I thought I would hate it but I really don't. The body has rot where it always does on the quarter panels but I'm not to worried about it. The interior is in great shape and the seats are very comfertable. The tranny shifts great but the clutch burns a bit if you race shift at red line. Over all I don't think I got hurt on the trade at all, I'm pretty happy driving a prelude again.

This is the only pic I have right now, will get more tomorrow.

eh not very good individual

you need to get those rust problems fixed and it really sounds your engine needs full rebuild

if you have to mention that it burns oil - then it burns it a lot - piston rings are gone

yes they burn SOME oil, but too much is not normal! it just tells that your engine is not healthy

Re: I'm back with a new ride

^^^ not true ^^^ if he has a super rich condition the gas will break down the oil and make it look like your burning oil.

Colinater welcome back. For the record, if nothing was done internal to the SE-R, nissan would've put in a new one for free. The 2.5 has many factory flaws and Nissan is trying to keep their customers loyal. Next time though, lol!

Get on that rust man.

-Sideswipe
The guy who had the car before me had it professionally rebuilt but left the damaged cat of it so it did the same damage all over again.

I do plan to keep this one, it feels so great to be back in a prelude again. I'll grab some more pics today, I want you guys to see this near perfect interior.

Re: I'm back with a new ride

Nice!!!! Some people are incredible. 3k in a rebuild to leave in a faulty cat??? I really liked the B15 chassis sentra. Just a well packaged car, and the SE-R was a sweet car too.

Love silver preludes, always classy. A carbon fiber wrap of the hood, tackle the rust and you have a sweet ride. Congrats!

Re: I'm back with a new ride

Yea, its a shame the car had to go out the way it did. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt it will ever leave the guys yard, the bmw had been sitting for 3 years in the same spot and was surounded by 4 other cool but junk cars.

I would wrap the hood but its all bent up. Replacing the hood and fixing the rust are the first things on my list.
