Finance a Lude, or buy a simple DD !

Well, I'm trying to get another lude. This one has beautiful floormats.
I have to see it up close and hear her run before I jump into it.
I'm not feeling the spoiler (but then again) mayyybe keep spoiler, not the tails, and I would probably plasti-dip the rims, but it looks like it would be fun, just wish it had EL gauges. I just completed an online credit app, I'll probably fail.... But HEY ! what the heck, worth a try, no ?
She looks ok, I just have to get in and under her to see if her panties are soiled at all.

Hope it all goes well, I'll use mine as a donor

Or just this, I need a DD basically, I may be too attached to mine to get rid of it...

1984 Honda Prelude. Great condition, LOW mileage, needs no work. Passes air care

Way too much for a 4G in that condition.

Re: Finance a Lude !

I was thinking so as well, either way I have to wait till the 18th at least... It better be spotless underneath for that price, I would bring em down to 4 grand prolly, maybe 4.5

I'm falling in love with the 2nd gen tho, it's perfect in everyway, except for the little rust, but if I can source a fender, it's easy to fix..

p.s. And if nobody takes your foggies in time, they're mine !

Re: Finance a Lude !

Forget it Skeletor, it's 5 grand because they need a MINIMUM finance OF $3k, AND YOU PAY $2K to remove all lien liability. Banks love to have people owe them money, zero risk.

Don't do it.

Keep looking man, It'll show up.

Re: Finance a Lude !

Feed the pig...
In other words start a $5 bill collection.. maybe 10's, ...maybe 20's..
Then you'll have a down payment when the time comes.

$4g tops for a good 4th. If you buy from a dealer a $4k car will be $7.5k..
Like others said, take your time...

Re: Finance a Lude !

OOOOOOOOOOOOH ERRR-MAHHHHH-GAHHHHHH that was a 3 gear pull.

Having to take the bus to a landscaping job is a new experience for me, asian girls think I stinky after werk.... has a sad on me :(
lol, I might get a bike for now, or a civic, or a, sighhhhh, sunfire..... I can be strong tho, I can bus it for a while for my lude... I just don't want to do bit by bit anymore, I'm gonna save a stack and drop it all at once on dick cheney

Chris, I think you are right, and I just need a DD, I cant be too rash and sell/junk my 4th.... It is a project after all... Saving it from the crushers is what I want... Ill take some pics later tho and show the damage close up from the hit and run I had way back. My trunk closes weird ever since, I want to take it to a shop and see if my frame is ok, straight and true. The rear quarter inner and outer skins will need lots of work.. I'll take some pics later today or tomorrow after work.. It's just I'm makin a bit more flow now, so before next summer I plan to save a sh|tload and drop it at the body shop for a full strip and inspection. I cant imagine that would cost me any less than 3000 tho. If it's over 5 I would cry.

Tom

Patience man. I know it's rough, but once I got a daily it made all the difference in the world. I was on the verge of making the worst mistake I could have made. I would have cried trying to start over.

Re: Finance a Lude !

my vote goes on the 95 srv, great previous owner kept all books, records, etc, and that thing looks garage kept. and if he has all that stuff in perfect condition, you know the car is gonna be upkept good. most likely a one owner too...

Re: Finance a Lude !

that price is fairly steep fro that prelude man. i'd search for, "for sale by owner" stuff on craigslist. the used auto sale places always jack the prices up so much above value.

Re: Finance a Lude !

I remember lurking around on Kijiji a few months ago and found that same Prelude (SR-V). I'm in AB but I like to switch over to BC and even Sasquatchawan on Kijiji from time to time and see what kind of Preludes are for sale...and I saw that Lude for sale over 6 months ago no lie by that same company.

So I'm curious as to why it hasn't sold yet...other than it being a 20 year old car priced at 5 grand. If you can get it down to 4 or lower though...GO FOR IT! And use the tidbit I have provided you: tell them you saw the same ad MONTHS ago on Kijiji.

BTW that color is pretty hot. It's Brittany blue green pearl which is super rare as I believe it only came on 1993's...I saw a 93 with that Brittany color at the junkyard and almost fooled me into thinking it was an Azure blue green like my lude. I was getting ready to pillage it for a few body panels to have as spares...that is, until I confirmed color via the driver door jam.

Re: Finance a Lude !

Thanks guys, and yes Miz, the lip is something I latched on to real quick, Friday I can take mad pics of this car, I have been approved for the loan by my bank and IF the car is spotless I will take it... I truly feel it is the right decision. And I will part out tails and spoiler, but not that lip !!! Unless I want to throw on my mudflaps... Friday countdown to checkin her out and IF it's all good, then the week after I bring her home, Engine is main priority, and chassis condition, low mileage tho..

The color is also nice, but I'm partial to white, we'll see how it all goes... cue skeletor laugh

I've only ever seen one Brittany Blue-Green 4th gen in the wild, and it was a 4WS. Only other ones I've seen with it on here have been SR-Vs.

Re: Finance a Lude !

Got home from work @ 730pm left house at 540am.. I am officially pooped, I get 3 days off tho every week, so Friday is the day of updates, I really have my fingers crossed that I don't find anything I don't like, Hopefully it does have 4ws.. I would love that for a change, as it stands tho, I am excited about trying out my first h22, I'll keep my h23 block tho, XD for future antics !
5ooo is ok for me IF the car is perfect, I'm rebuilding form the ground up anyhow. And I will have countless things to switch over from my dick cheney to the new one... IF all goes well. And re-do a ton of deletes. Fun fun stuff ! NO shortcuts this time. Do those look like 17's on it ? I don't want 17's...

Re: Finance a Lude !

Um, those are 17's man. You do need the clearance for the VTEC calipers. Also those are motegi's. If the tires are good, leave them alone until you can get some you like.

Re: Finance a Lude !

Thanks for that info, I'll give them a shot for sure, maybe I'll like the way they feel. I'm gonna keep my sunflowers, for winter, and they have maybe 6000 miles on tires i got last July.

VTEC calipers will clear wheels as small as 15". I have 15" wheels on my car with VTEC clappers.

Re: Finance a Lude !

How did you do this Noob Saibot??? I've heard (and read) how the vtec front calipers were too wide or some junk and couldn't do less than 16"? A typo maybe? Well thanks for clearing that up.

Then how would a 93 vtec model have the same wheels as an SI would? They fit under stock wheels trust me.

Re: Finance a Lude !

Nice, good news bout the clappers. I have brand spankin new rear calipers that have been on since about september, that did not get used very much, I'm assuming the rears are the same as the 92 Si... If not that would suck, tomorrow I go to the place to check her out and one of the first things I do is go to locate the car, before any dealer finds me and start to give it a good look see before I even speak to anyone there. If that test passes, I want to check door jambs and all that to verify the paint is what it may possibly be. Kind of excited, kind of hesitant...
Since the rear lip is also that BBGM color, I'm having my doubts about it being that... Unless they got some legit respray and matched it well, I've read some trippy and cool stuff about BBGM.. I'd just be really stoked if it was a 4ws.

EDIT: Buuut, it is an sr-v and the color looks wickedly similar to all the BBGM ludes I've looked at online.

Re: Finance a Lude !

15's will for sure fit...I mean those are the stock size rim for a 4th gen. But only if they're 45 offset or less I believe as 50 offset IT-R wheels (15'') need minimum 4mm wheel spacers to clear the calipers.
