Icon1 Random switch found in the glove box Prelude 93

I have no clue what these are and I have not touched the switch since I got the car last week. Anyone may have clues on what it could be for?

My lude is the S model with F22A1 Engine.

Any tips on H22A swap are welcome as well

Re: Random switch found in the glove box Prelude 93

I'd turn it on and see if something happens. U have one from previous owner for the ac, because the button on the dash is broken

Take the dash apart and trace it. Might be a starter killswitch

That's weird, I have a 93 prelude and it dosent have that. It defeniently does not look like it came in the car new so its not stock, I would do what devioust said and just follow the wire

Re: Random switch found in the glove box Prelude 93

Safest thing to do would just be to trace the wires and figure out where they go. I don't think your car is goin to explode or something if you flip the switch, but I would still advise against it lol

Re: Random switch found in the glove box Prelude 93

Thanks for all your replies. Some are heck funny Haha

I didn't trace the switch because it was dark last night but I did switch the car on (not ignited), then when I flipped that switch, some sort of fan stopped spinning.

So I'm guessing it's the a/c? I'm really new to cars and this lude was my first ever car so even if I traced it I wouldn't know what it is connected to :/

Good thing my lude didn't come with one of those switches.

I would've disconnected it XD
Without a second thought.
And prayed it didn't **** anything up.

When you start your car from cold does the fan kick on right when its started?
could just be a hardwired fan relay that's always running when the car is started

Re: Random switch found in the glove box Prelude 93

Yes, the fan runs before the engine is ignited unless I flip the switch then the fan is off. I am not going to try and start the car without the fan being on just in case I'd screw something up. :P could it be the radiator or something?

Re: Random switch found in the glove box Prelude 93

Then that's what it is.
your fans or fan are hardwired, which is really bad for the motor without a proper relay switch ( well for my 80' camaro it was )
I'm not totally sure but you should 2 fans,
I have a 95' and 2
1 for the AC and 1 for cooling, both attached to the rad
I'm sure if you pop the hood you will see some wiring done.

Re: Random switch found in the glove box Prelude 93

it doesnt even look like its wired to an accessory.... makes no sense, should be 3 wires, power in to switch, ground in to switch, which you have... but where is the power out to accessory?

anyway, mad wierd. you should follow the wiring. you will be able to locate them going through the firewall somewhere without ripping the car apart, at most take the glove compartment out which is like 4 or 6 screws.... but they have to go somewhere.
