Re: Oil smell!!!!!!

Did u torque the valve cover bolts to specs? If u over tight it wont leak at the beginning but as the gasket heats up for a few months then it might start. Oil filter is tight? Sounds like it might b burning off on your exhaust..

Re: Oil smell!!!!!!

Probably using corn oil. I can go for KFC roght now.

While the car is off, spray engine degreaser into a rag and clean the header. Run the car until you smell the oil burning at look for it in your engine bay. Hopfully it's not under car or near the cat. Those are a pain to see, and a mess to clean , hope it isn't the cam seals

Re: Oil smell!!!!!!

If it's a small leak it'll burn off and you won't see it.

Let the car idle how ever long it runs before you smell it.. and watch under the hood.
Why did you change the vc gasket? Check the bolts.

Re: Oil smell!!!!!!

How many miles are on the engine?

Does your rear bumper have a black stain by the exhaust?

Re: Oil smell!!!!!!

it's probably leaking onto the exhaust mine was leaking from the oil cooler filter on to the exhaust and made it smell a lot like oil.

Re: Oil smell!!!!!!

I think it's hitting my exhaust but I can't see any oil except for one time there was a tiny bit of oil right on the front next to my headers
