Suspension help please

I just bought a 1992 Prelude SI. This is my first Honda and driving this car is awesome! I haven't looked at the suspension yet, I just bought it last night, but on the freeway the rear end seems to "wag" when a bump is hit. I know it isn't a very good description of the problem, but do you have any guesses as to what it could be? Could it be the ball joints? Thanks for any help.

Re: Suspension help please

Could be ball joints and/or bushings. Jack it up and have a thorough look around.

I know it sounds stupid, but I haven't had time to look under the car to find out if it is stock or modified. The car does look lower, the front tires almost tuck and the rear has maybe an inch of space between the tire and the fender.

I had Firestone look at it and they said the left rear hub assembly needs to be replaced, the rear control arm bushings are bad and the rear "tie rod ends" need to be replaced. Firestone quoted me $1200 for the work. I'd rather do it myself. This is my first Honda, so I am having some trouble finding the parts.

I have found the control arm bushing kit, but I can't find the hub assembly or the tie rod ends. Can anyone help me with the search?

They also said the front sway bar links are bad.

Thanks for any help

Re: Suspension help please

Mine has a problem that sounds very similar to yours. I believe mine is a wheel bearing. I am replacing the hub tomorrow, got the whole assembly with the bearing already pressed in for 25 bucks from AutoZone.

Re: Suspension help please

Alright, after working all day to get a lug nut off of a stripped stud, I got my hub replaced. I'm pretty sure it helped a bit. I'm so used to the wobble that its hard to tell at this point :p but I think everything that I felt on my hour ride home was just from the car tracking in the uneven parts of the road.

Re: Suspension help please

Thanks for the update. I picked up new hub assemblies yesterday and will see if those help my situation.
