whats your motivation ?

hello fellow 4th gen owners ! lately my cars been kinda depressing me after putting in soooo much money this winter i feel like ive wasted it all on such an old vehicle , i wanted to ask what YOUR motivation is to keeping such a old car ... lately ive been thinking about parting it out or even selling it . i just seem to have no motivation left for such a old car even if there pretty much no problems left. and now considering they are gonna start emission testing in my province this year im having more thoughts of selling it . Give me your 2 cents !

Re: whats your motivation ?

1. Because driving it still brings me a smile.
2. Because it still looks better than most other cars I see on the road with me.
3. Because I've owned it since new, so there's no point in selling it, just to go looking for another.
4. Because fixing it is still cheaper than making car payments.

My Motivation?

A big f*ck you to the ex wife.

Haha,

But also, just because its an amazing car. Has some of the best curves EVER. And think, if you do keep it 20 years, it will be one of the last gasoline engine cars while everyone else is putt putting around in their economical batteries.

Re: whats your motivation ?

-I like it, it's fun to drive, get lots of attention
-Rare (for a Honda) not just another teg or civic...
-Cheap to run, for the most part. I got 30MPG on my last tank with moderate driving...VTEC (h22) pull every now and again.
-Easy to work on compared to a lot of cars unless everything is rusted to hell.
-Still makes more/as much power than all NA 4 cylinder cars of today, besides other Honda's of course.
-I get a lot of looks in it.
-It's very comfortable, yet drives in a sporty manner
-Keep it on the road and out of the junkyard

Not a lot for emissions bulls*** they can do for an OBD1 car other than banning them from road use. Stupid of Eastern Canada for doing that though...can't go much more fully retarded than following California. Especially their 3 strikes rule which is crippling them and will be the end of them, forget earthquakes.

Re: whats your motivation ?

1) because it's a prelude
2) refer to 1.

Seriously, they're relatively easy to repair, they hold up well, fun to drive, good looking and fun to drive.. yes I repeated that on purpose

My motivation is that one day my kids will get to polish it. But will never drive it until they pry the keys from my cold, dead fingers. It's your A to Z man. Home away from home.

True story
My ex broke up with me in my car, she opened the door got out to leave and for no reason what so ever my car door by its self slammed on her finger so hard that it broke her nail and she started bleeding. From that day I knew my car loves me and is the only thing that stuck by me through all the bullshiit. The money I saved up for a wedding and engagement ring went into a fully built motor and I could not be any happier right now

Re: whats your motivation ?

You're kidding right? Even in Miser "S" Trim, full cat with type S intake is teh secks.

1.X2345642213456432409 against monthly payments on an appliance, not a car.
2.It's yours to do what you like.
3.In a clean trims sexyier than a EG
4.How many other companies could not make a prelude beater...

I have cars I baby, even the GMC suburban, but if hard times came my way, I know I can snag a 4th and start right where I left off. And this community to make a F22 turbo nightmare. The only reason why you sell the 4th is because you saw a mint 4WS 3rd gen manual or a Base 5th gen manual.

Re: whats your motivation ?

It's fun to drive, looks great for it's age, gets tons of attention/compliments from both non-car people and car people. They are relatively cheap to maintain and mod and easy to work on. I could go on, but you get the idea.

I have other cars. Some of which are still in production and/or more "popular", and I love the feeling I get of being a part of our dying breed. The community here is better than any forum I've been a part of before and I the appreciation I already have for my car can be shared with people that I actually care to share it with. It's a good feeling. It's a passion.

Short answer = passion

My main reason for keeping this car... I have had so much sex in it, I wouldn't feel right selling her. This car has drove me all over without the US a hiccup. The only issues I've had with it have been my own fault ( h23's do not like 100 shot of n2o but I did lol )

Everything is running perfect except for front main seal. Everything been pretty much replaced before I swapped the engine and no compression leak. Even replaced O2 sensor. Even when I had my F22B in it I got the same gas milage. No fuel leaks or nothing

Why do I love my old 4th gen?

Because it's unique. So few of them are around, and I love the 4th gens, so I feel like I'm obligated to keep this part of Honda's history alive. I love the car's body and interior. Also, my girlfriend likes it, so that's a plus. LOL.

Re: whats your motivation ?

hey everyone thanks for all your replys but my 92 has found a new owner , my cousin has always loved my prelude and the moment he found out i was thinking bout selling it he offered me 5500 for it even tho it was cheaper then what i wanted atleast my lude will always be in the family and if ever he decides to part it out ill be sure to send him this way because there are lots of rare parts any prelude owner would want . thanks for the 2 years i had on this forum never had a problem always got the help from members i needed . goodbye fellow prelude owners and good luck with your builds !
