Have officially become a Prelude owner!

Hey guys! New to the prelude world and loving it! Picked up a 96 VTEC for cheap! Has a lit more problems than I thought...

-AC button not working
-axle seals need to be replaced
-power steering pump leaking
-leaking tranny fluid
-oil pan gasket
-sunroof doesn't close all the way without lifting the rear of it
But other than that, the car runs and drives great! I'm happy with it overall!

Cosmetically (prior front end damage from.previous owner)
-driver side nostril
-bumper lenses
-hood

Can't wait to start building her up!

Re: Have officially become a Prelude owner!

Congrats on your purchase. Not that many 96's out there.

You've come to the right place.

Sounds like you have typical 17 year old car issues. Nothing major it seems.
The sunroof could become a drag over time.

Parts are still available if you look around. Part outs are a viable option. And car-parts.com is a national junkyard deal where you can find stuff.

Good luck with your project

Re: Have officially become a Prelude owner!

Hey guys. So I noticed that sometimes when I go into reverse from first (when im parking), then back to neutral, the rpm drops and the car shuts off? What can cause that?

Re: Have officially become a Prelude owner!

for the ac button, you may want to take the climate control out of the console and resolder the pins on the green connector. Look up climate control fix online, it happens alot.

Re: Have officially become a Prelude owner!

So I'm going to do a tranny flush tomorrow. The bolt with the square head is the drain plug right? Which one is the fill hole? Is there anywhere from up top i can fill from?
