New shift linkage

Im new here so please escuse if this is a newb question. Im looking at buying a 94 vtec with 190k. Guy wants $900 for it and says the motor runs great but it needs a new shift linkage. Given that I know nothing about prelude shift linkages im asking you guys. I found a nuespeed short shifter (Neuspeed 66.20.94 Short Shift). Is that what ill need? Cant find one on any main auto parts store sites(advance, autozone). I hope this is it that way i can order it and go get this car.

Re: New shift linkage

The shift linkage on our preludes are a set of cables that run from the shifter to the transmission. It's easy to tell if that's the problem. Try to shift through the gears (while the car is off) while a friend watches the cables under the hood to see if they both move.
