just have a qick question..

What does a normal 5 lug swap go for with no rims? I got an offer for $50 buck to get the swap with no rims no rear calipers (mine should work) and am told the rotors arent in great shape but ahould be fine. They may (prolly do) have some grooves in them.. is this worth it??

Re: just have a qick question..

I would definitely get it. Ranges between $100-$200 from what I've seen, and I'd still want to put new bearings in them still too.

Re: just have a qick question..

Depends on what you're getting for that price.

I'm always wondering why people with fourth gens don't just go and steal every suspension component off any fifth gen BASE model in the local junkyard (if there are any), they're identical, everything bolts up and it requires no modification. Hell, BB6 rear UCAs are reinforced anyway. Wouldn't that just be easier? Press new bushings/ball joints in and slap it all together.

Re: just have a qick question..

I already took the suspesnsion from a 5th gen.. long story but didnt have money or time to take hubs plus no rims for them. Now im about to start my build so am getting it on cl. Plus junk yard is expensive. Im also going to try for the glass roof swap. Anyone have a link to what i need for that and can tell me a decent price to pay for it?

Re: just have a qick question..

Who else came in here to figure out what a "qick" is?

Looks like you got it covered. As the famous russel peters says:

"Be a man! You go shop aroun fo a while, you come back den buy fo 34.50!"

Get the TL type-s hubs and acura brakes. 5 lug swap isn't worth it for just rim options.

Re: just have a qick question..

In NY it is. I went to buy a stock heating control unit for the suburban (the guy who had her before put in a non defroster unit) and the junk yard was gonna charge me 125.00, put down half for a deposit, and wait 3 days for the part. I went home, ordered a brand new unit for 110, free shipping, got it on the third day.

Maybe it works different out of NYC, but the junkyards blow local.

Re: just have a qick question..

Its all depending on the parts. For my truck it would be about $200 for leaf springs and shocks for front and rear, but for the hubs etc, im pretty sure it would be more then $50 for all four total. At the time it was expensive regardless of price becuase i was replacing two tires every other week.. that being where the lomg story is. Now the car is good t go and im going to working on it so its time to five lug her. And the tl is hard to find around here plus that would be expensive if i found one for parts on cl.. the guy parting out this 5th gen is about to send it to a scap yard so is selling it all super cheap.

I got my entire 5th gen roof for $120 locally. I usually see people trying to sell them on here or on PP for like $180 + shipping. If you just want the glass cover without the mounting bracket or slide cover, you can usually find those shipped anywhere from $50-$90.

For putting the whole thing in;

5th Gen Sunroof Conv; Where'd all the help go?
