woot new starter, but now its dying! :(

so after a month of my car sitting and me not being able to remove the lower bolt of my starter (it was mega dead) i had a buddy help me get it off. i got a starter off a accord and now it starts sooooo good im very happy but...
i just let it idle for about 15 minutes and it sounds like crap! it sounds like its idling at 300 rpms and goes rut rut rut rut. i revved the engine and when it went back down it stuttered and died. it only dies after i rev it. i know ive been messing with my dissy so im thinking its my ignition timing? and ive done a valve adjustment already
so if its my ignition timing do any stores rent a timing light? because at costless its 30 bucks to buy only and i only need it once geez,

also i smell something like rubber burning.. i know my valve stems are leaking but it doesnt smell like burning oil it smells like rubber and i only get that smell in idle

jdm f22b 94 lude 240 trillion miles thanks for any help and sorry if im ranting i had too much coffee and its hard to settle myself down :D

You will use that timing light more than once.

Mine goes rut rut rut at 300 rpm's too. Hence it idles at 500 rpm's normally.

well another problem is my tach seems to be stuck at 1100 and wont go any lower no matter how low the idle sounds so im just guessing the idle is too low

Are your spark plug wires on in the right order?

i like you :) lol yeah they are in the right order they always have been (i replace them 1 at a time)

the possible reasons im thinking
1 idle is set too low
2 burning oil in idle makes it lumpy and low
4 ignition timing is off alot

the car drive just fine now but i can tell the idle is bad even though my tach is pretty much stuck at 1100
