ECU for H22a and Tuning, Hondata S300

Hey Guys, quick question,

Currently prepping to start my project, a 95 SRV (thatís a Canadian VTEC model if you didnít know).

I am ripping out the old H22A1 and it is being replaced with a JDM Blacktop H22a. I am wondering what ECU I need to be able to use Hondata S300 and tune it?

My mechanic buddy is saying it needs to be a Civic or Integra ECU. Can the stock SRV ECU be used?

The 95 SRV is still ODB1, the H22a is ODB1, if that means anything, I would rather keep it this route for easy emissions testing here in Canada.

Thanks Guys!

According to Hondata's website, yes, you can only use certain ECUs, but the S300 is designed for OBD1 use, so all the compatible ECUs are OBD1.

The two most commonly used are:

P28 and P72.

I chose a P72 because it has a knock board.

No, you cannot use the stock ECU.

Neptune is also only compatible with certain ECUs, pretty much the same ones as Hondata. I don't know about the others.
