H23A to a F22A1 trans

Sorry guys but im new at this and need some help. Im trading my 94 Accord for a 94 Prelude S with the F22A1 in it. I want to buy a blue top H23A I found for $800 but don't know if the trans will bolt up. Im kinda on a budget with being a student and all. Would this swap work or would I be Better off with the OBD 1 H22A instead? Any and All info will be greatly appreciated, thank you all!

Re: H23A to a F22A1 trans

All H/F series trannys and engines are compatible with each other aside from the transmission for a Prelude SH, and the engine(F20c) or transmission for an s2k.

So to answer your question yes they should bolt right up.

Yes it fits. Running an F22 trans right now. Longer gears than the other trannys though.

Re: H23A to a F22A1 trans

if you are a student on a budget and need the car, I suggest keeping the F22a in there. You will encounter loads of headaches swapping that motor in. Keep researching and reading up about it. It's a very cool swap, just need the know how and time and cash for all the extras you will need.

Re: H23A to a F22A1 trans

i have done an F/H swap except i put the H23 tranny on my F22. super easy and simple did it in 8 hrs including the timing so i would assume it would work the same way in your case. also you may need to keep the F22 tranny mount...i believe i had to swap my f22 tranny mount with the H23 tranny mount cuz they were a little different, but if you have any questions i will help you out as much as i can just pm me

Re: H23A to a F22A1 trans

The H23A blue top is quite possibly the worst swap you could attempt, coming from an F22, being that the H23A is OBD-II and VTEC. Essentially, in addition to all the stuff you have to do to swap an H22A into the car, you'll also have to convert the motor from OBD-II to OBD-I. On a budget, I'd just get an H23 non VTEC. If you have about two grand burning a hole in your pocket, an H22A swap would be in order. The motor/tranny aren't that expensive, but a lot of people overlook the small things when pricing out a motor swap, like fluids, random miscellaneous parts, mounts, broken/worn crap you'll find while doing the swap, timing belt and water pump, etc.
